ScanGauge- Which one do you guys use?

I have the one in your post above, had it six years now mounted over my rearview mirror. I have had zero problems with it. and I have had zero problems with the mount too.

 

Yep, that's the one I have. With the latest firmware revision, it will show TPMS pressures. I just recently bought a 2nd Scangauge so I can have 1 dedicated to TPMS. The Scangauge people assured me that it's possible to run 2 Scangauges. I have an OBD2 splitter on the way. You can also do it by daisey chaining them together.

If you buy a used Scangauge, keep in mind it's $25 to have the firmware upgraded to be able to show TPMS. If you buy it new, they will update it for free.

 

I have the kiwi 3 Bluetooth and using it with the obd fusion app. Works great and can clear codes

Functions very similarly. Just a little bit smaller

 

Does it give transmission temp?

 

I have the fusion app also and can get tranny pan temps. You have to enter the pid into the app and configure a visual gauge, but that’s easy after you played around with it a bit.

Wow, that's almost half the price. Is there anything the scangauge can do that the ultra can't?

 

Honestly. Not 100% sure I did a quick glance at both and the Ultragauge did all the things I needed it to do. Plus I picked it up used so it was 1/4 the price of the Scan Gauge.


It’s definitely worth looking into. If it does what you’ll need, it’s a solid choice.

 

What mount do you use, i'm looking into relocating it over the mirror

 

I've been using my Scangauge II for 12 years now and remember buying it from a Toyota Nation group buy back when I had my 06 Tacoma. After my 06, I used it in my Z to display AFR's and mileage (and HP for what that was worth). It's back in my 14' Tacoma and use it everyday to monitor my mileage. It's probably been one of the more influential devices I've owned since I do actively try to get better mileage numbers. Another thing I monitor is my transmission temps at the pan and converter.
Lot's of people like the Ultragauge too. It's just the Scangauge is nice and compact and keep it behind the steering wheel, below my dash gauges.

It was the one that Amazon picked to go with it I will try and find a link. It is real natural to look at the mirror and the scangauge at the same time.

They mount perfectly on the steering column.

 

Another Ultragauge owner. What sold me on it is that it has configurable audible alarms for most of the important readings - voltage, ATF temp, coolant temp, etc... Last time I looked Scanguage didn't, but they may now. What it lacks is an oil pressure readout. I also wished it could read voltage from two batteries.

 

I use an UltraGauge Blue.

No problem running two Bluetooth apps at the same time.

I’ve tried to get my OBDLINK MX+ Bluetooth (bought for a different vehicle) to work with my IPhone Xr running OBD Fusion but the phone doesn’t want to connect to my truck and OBDLINK at the same time.
