Ok. Is there a preference between the two? With the exception of the volume knob they look pretty much the same.

Im not entirely sure, it all depends on the cpu specs, how much ram it has, the rom size. Some of the new px6 chips are running android 9.0 while the new intel chip is running android 8.1.

Also the outputs and inputs may differ. I would check the 2 out and see which one has the features you want the most.

Holding down on steering wheel doesn’t do it for me but hold down on the knob will mute, however if wireless Apple play is going it will mute but not pause the song

You are going to need to get the whole bezel trim part for the premium radio, there should be a few on the for sale section. But the joying radio is bigger than the sr oem radio.

Thanks for letting me know as I didn't realize they were different sizes. Looks like the bezel is 200+ and don't see any used ones so will just cancel the Amazon orders. Could cut the factory one but will be too difficult to make it look very good.

Smells a little like house paint, but not as strong. I left the doors open with a fan running in there for about 2 hours to let it dry most of the way. After installing all the parts back again the smell had gone, doesnt smell at all now even when in the sun with the windows up.

So how did you map the home key to go to a car launcher? Panel learning option? If so I cant see how to get it to launch an app?

Edit: gotta go to another feature and change the launcher. Mine were not downloaded yet.

You can map the home key to the launcher, then the launcher has all the other apps in it.

That's where I am drawing the blank on how to do this . Everything else is awesome.

Also if you wear polarized sunglasses make sure they are horizontally polarized or at 45, verticals black the screen out like my Wiley x. Bummed but oh well

You can also set it so it always uses the car launcher on startup. No need to use the android auto.

-gaia gps works, just remember to give it authorization
-no android auto wireless that I have found
-if I leave the android auto menu I have no clue how to go back to android auto

Thats how I have mine setup, when you turn it on it goes to the launcher. When you push the home button it also goes to the launcher.

Thanks for all the info on this thread!
Just installed the Joying and it’s pretty nice! My kit was missing the USB adapter as well so I’m waiting to hear back from them. Probably be Monday.

A few questions for the people that have used this for a bit now:

-When in Carplay, can you change song via the steering wheel control? I can change the volume but no luck on the track.

-Is the back up camera quality pretty low for you guys as well? And can you access the back up camera through the aux function?

    Thanks!

Back up camera clarity is not as good as OEM, I can adjust songs via steering wheel controls if you cannot you can map them out

I have an alternate version of this headunit

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-android-auto-apple-carplay-head-unit.609632/

There is one thing that's killing me besides the missing volume noob which isn't a big deal,is the fact that one of the simples oem functions, voice control for calling contacts doesn't work.

The bluetooth app is very clunky and so I downloaded a contacts app and I can call my most usual contacts people from there by setting them as favorites, however Google voice or google assistant do not let me make phone calls, it says that "it can't make phone calls yet"

Anyone found a fix for this?
