Before buying my 2019 TRD OR DCLB last December, I asked four of my friends who have Tacos what their best purchase advice was, and every last one of them said that they wished they had gone with a longbed instead of their shortbeds.

I absolutely love mine. No regrets at all!

Seems to ride smoother. But it would be nice to have the extra length also.

more space and little bit smoother ride for me. I personally think also once its lifted and has some bigger tires it looks more proportional.

Lifting and larger tires not possible without causing problems with safety equipment according to several dealers I've talk to about this. Dealer won't disconnect safety features and can't recalibrate either. 2018 was different , do what ever you like. Don't take my word for it call any dealer.

My 2019 longbed is lifted 2.5" with Kings and 33" tires, and all of the sensors work just fine. It didn't require any sort of recalibration either. Even if it did, the recalibration process also still works on moderately lifted trucks.

I go back and forth and sometimes wonder if I should’ve gone with a LB instead. Either way, unless you really need the extra room you can’t go wrong because they both have their pros and cons.

I’ve never heard that before. Not saying your lying, but there are a bazillion lifted/modded LB’s out there that would say different.

I don't get this. In Knoxville Tn the Lexus and Toyota dealers are connected by the same blacktop. Across the street is a Huge shop ,run by Toyota, that sells everything in the world for Tacoma and Tundra trucks. They have rims , tires , lift kits ,etc. Many are in the building where you can see the work being done. They also will not put any of this on a 2019 Tacoma. It's hard to believe a guy standing there with cash in hand can't buy anything like a lift kit , tires , rims. They also say it's because of the electronic safety features. I called several Toyota dealers , they all say the same thing. They will sell you anything you want as long as it is not installed on their property. The long bed or short bed was never the issue. The Toyota dealer said I couldn't even put the off road Toyota rims/tires on a sport. Something is wrong somewhere.

I got a long bed because we're always hauling a bed full of coolers, dog crate, and others totes, etc. The previous truck was a 3/4 ton so we're used to having the room. We also needed a double cab, so that took a MT out of the running. The garage is plenty long, I have about 2' front and back when I'm parked inside.

But are they 2019 models? LB or SB is doesn't matter.

Sounds like your dealership is run by a large collection of morons (not surprising at all, actually).

My local dealership sells lifted 2019 Tacos all day, every day. Hell, they even install ridiculous 6" bracket lifts on some of them!

That said, I'd never use a dealership-installed lift anyways. In nearly all cases, they're overpriced garbage using second-rate parts.

My truck has a three inch lift and 33’s. It’s a SB but there are guys who will tell you the same thing about the electronics. All my sensors work perfectly from the day I bought it when it was 100% stock to now after the mods. Never skipped a beat.

So does mine. Toyota doesn’t like us modding and holding them accountable if something goes wrong so that’s why they take that stance. The dealers just want you to buy the shit from them, so that’s why they do it.
