Yeah we threw some dye in it to watch it. I had .25lbs in it and my system takes 1.29 according to AllData. Had it recharged about 4 years ago. Funny part is that it was still coming out 37 degrees on the drivers side and 74 degrees on the passenger side. Wife decided it was time to get it figured out. I thought I had a blend door issue or something. Nope, just low pressure.

Remove the weather strip at the rear of the hood to increase the amount of ventilation out of the truck and for better results if you have a hood scoop open up the grille.

I found a valid VIN and ordered from a local dealer. Has to be a truck originally produced for retail sale in Mexico.

They are sub parts to a kit that toyota sells to increase ac performance while sitting still. Supercharged trucks don't need the whole kit because they can't use the fan. So, this is the workaround.
the TSB is in the post I quoted earlier.

I need to do this. The black paint soaks up sun and it noticeably hotter than the red truck I had.

At least order the radiator side seals. They're readily available. Stick em to your new rad when you install it

Strange, I just placed an online order for all 8 seals with my local dealer, it's processing now we'll see if they kick it back. I did not provide a VIN. I wonder if Toyota Corporate logs which VINs have purchased these items or if they just check to see if it was produced for retail sale in Mexico (i.e. one VIN can buy these parts many times)

The pusher fan is on my short list, along with ceramic tints and remote start. As a last resort I'll consider insulating my cab. My AC cranks once I'm at speed on the highway for a bit, I'm just trying to help it when I get into the truck after it's been sitting in the sun at work all day and then I'm in stop and go for a bit before getting on the freeway

have you really noticed a difference after installing 1-4? i’ve had my tacoma for a couple weeks and am not impressed by the ac. i don’t think it’s broken, just not efficient.

I'd really like to see someone try replacing the condenser with a larger unit. You would still recharge the system based on pressures. The hot refrigerant would spend more time in the condenser, pulling more heat (thermal energy) out of the system.
If I had a medical condition like the OP, I'd seriously consider this.

I don't think that adding just those four parts is going to make a huge difference. Doing the sides and top as well on my truck has resulted in marginally better performance while idling in a hot parking lot for a while.

I'm seriously considering a edit to the ac adder settings in the ecu to get it to idle a bit faster when the ac is on. That'll definitely help. We didn't have that capability last summer. Thank you @HPTuners !!!

    We're gonna find out.

I don't know for sure if the PRA's are keeping track on these. I don't even really understand why they put them on manual ctl.

    upload_2019-7-27_14-22-42.jpg

Kind of weird that they did. I know on some parts, they're watching like hawks tho.

Excellent idea and you don't need the scoop to make this work. And please don't anybody respond with "that's a high pressure area like for a cowl induction hood on a Chevelle." It's nowhere near the same.

I think what he means is to evac and re-charge to the lower end of the system capacity spec.

Its suggested my various manufactures in the aircraft industry, Most use a common compressor , Something with heat= higher pressures. Being on the lower end of the given pressure range helps. Our sys run R134 from 2.3 to 2.8 lbs. Much better cooling at 2.3 lbs when its 110 deg outside.

Capacity of a Tacoma or an aircraft? I assume you mean the aircraft?
