let me apologize in advance as I know this is asked a lot.

I purchased Wildpeak A/T3W 265/75/R16. I really like the overall look but would like to move to the 285 to take up some of the gap between the wheel and truck as well as improve the overall look. Most of what I have read states no way around not trimming and cmc then I run across a thread here and there where they are running the 285s did nothing and no rubbing. Can I get options to make these work on my setup without "major" trimming, cmc etc. Would be willing to purchase rims if that would get me there. I have Bilstein 5100's/EMO 887/Icon AAL.

    Thanks in advanceIMG_2557.jpg

would you consider a skinny tire? A bunch of us have 255/85/16s and it’s been a great way to get 33s on a stock 3rd Gen suspension with no trimming / chopping whatsoever.....and the spare tire fits under a short bed without having to move the bracket.

I've personally got the 255/85/16 Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx. They’re a hybrid MT/AT that wear well and aren’t too noisy:

Honestly never looked at this size as an option but after rolling through the link thread I do like how they look. Having said that my preference is a wider tire. Also, the Wildpeaks are not available in that size so I would need to rethink my tire choice.

So doing some more reading and it seems people have had luck with 8 inch zero offset rims and 285/75/16. Is changing the offset to zero to move the tire/wheel away from the UCA? If that's the case would using a spacer accomplish the same thing? Eventually would like to replace wheels just not in a position to.

I installed the 285's with Spidertrtax 1.25 spacers. Based on the amount of uca clearance I have with the spacers I think they are a must with the stock rims. I did rub a bit on speed bumps at full lockup on the lower portion of the front liners. I did a bit of heating and trimming on that one spot and am good now.

I have almost the same lift set up as you and I had to do trimming to fit my 285/75/16 on -25mm offset to not rub. Any reason you don’t wanna trim/CMC? If you plan on staying on pavement you may get away from not rubbing.

No trimming or CMC and no rubs daily driving. If I go offroad and stuff the suspension I will rub for sure. CMC and trimming is in my future.

Every truck is different though so your results may vary.

Not opposed to a cmc and agree if I do any serious wheeling it will most likely be a must. For now, I wanted to fit the tires on stock wheels without any major trimming or the cmc which was achieved.
