They come smoked black. Did not lamin-x.

It protrudes a bluish white light. I was amazed the first time I drove through a tunnel. Huge improvement over stock.

How did the Tundra fogs compare to the new G4s you swapped to? Been thinking about getting the G4s myself, but I also like the blacked out look of the Tundra fogs. Granted it's more function over form when it comes to this purchase.

You can get them straight from Laminex for about $20/set delivered. I've been thinking about trying those. I can't find them for a better price in our size at other places.

The Tundra fogs performed quite well. IMO they are the best bang per buck! I had the black surround versions. The G4’s however blow them out of the water in terms of spread and output but you have to pay a premium for them.

I have BD squadron sports, Amber driving combo. They are bright, I use them only when it’s necessary and not every day. The trip to and from work is at night mostly and not a lot of cars on the road. Like most people, I hate the pricks who have HID lights in reflector housings so I don’t run them when I’m on non-divided roads. 90% of the time fog lights aren’t needed anyway.

Yeah, I noticed the price tag. I'm saving it to my wish list for the future and hoping I come across a good deal eventually. Lowest price I've seen so far is just around $275-300. But they do look like they produce a nice bit more light to the side of the road while not blinding drivers. Thanks for the input as well mate!

    There’s also this thread:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ultimate-foglight-upgrade-h11-not-led-or-hid.435419/

If you want to maybe optimize your stock fogs (which are actually pretty good on the TRD’s). TL;DR Using a good high performance h11 bulb like the GE +130 for white light or a Nokya h11 Amber bulb for selective yellow will be a massive improvement over the stock h11 bulbs in the fogs.

Another option, and what I went with, are fogs from a Subaru Legacy with an H9 bulb:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...1-not-led-or-hid.435419/page-20#post-19847084

No night impressions yet, as it hasn’t been night since I’ve installed them. I don’t think they project as wide as the TRD fogs but they are wider than the stock headlights and appear to fill in the gaps of the stock headlights nicely.

    Went

    Installed them today RockHed
Did you have to adjust anything after installation? Or were they good to go?

Yeah, played with the adjustment a little to where I liked it. They are real easy to adjust too, just have to reach down to where the knob is and turn it a little. They're set just below the headlight cutoff. Just set then to where you like them, just remember they are not meant for distance and more for the dark area below the headlights and off to the sides.

I went with yellow halogen h11 bulbs in my stock TRD fogs. They look and work great.

The OEM LED Tundra fog lights perform better and are cheaper. The KC Hilites that I have now are the best by far at twice the price of the OEM's.
