Have any pro owners had rubbing issues with either 255/85 r16 or 255/80 r17 tires? I have a set of pro fox take offs and 4 runner pro sema wheels. I would love to get an approximate 33" tire in there, but don't want the power loss and rubbing likely to come with the 285's
    Thanks

There's a huge thread on 255/85r16 for stock off road suspension on 3rd gens, I don't think you'll run into any more issues with 4Runner wheels and a lift. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/put-255-85-16s-on-stock-or-wheels-and-suspension.491079/

285/75/16 with 0mm offset wheels and a bit of wheel well work with a heat gun.

If I have the scs Ray 10 17X8.5 wheels and 265/70 tires, will I have any issues on the pro suspension?

With some minor inner fender massaging they’ll fit.

Been there done that for over 2 years. No issues.

Thank you. I have read most of that thread and it seems to be pretty clear that I would be good with stock OR set up. I just didn't know if the increased offset would cause rubbing. I have read several post of non lifted OR trucks rubbing with the 255/80 r17 on these 4 runner wheels. I know lift isn't supposed to help with fitting larger tires but I would like to find guys running this setup before I buy tires.

So you put 285/75/16 On your truck, with stock suspension, didn’t have any issues with rubbing?
Did you by chance try wheel spacers?

So no rubbing when turning with the 285/75/16 Coopers?

Would you happen to have a picture from the front or back of the profile of the tire? I'm looking to jump up to that size from the stock 265s.

Any more updates? I’m getting serious about upgrading tires on my pro, so have been looking at mine closely and don’t see how I could fit 285/75 or even 255/85s wo cutting..maybe w/ an adjustable UCA, but that’s more $$ I don’t want to spend right now...

255/85/16 Cooper ST Maxx fits with stock pro suspension and tires. No doubt about it.

That's really nice. What tire brand did you use? Is it stock suspension? Do you have any problem?

Good to know. I have a pro with 265/75/16 but I'm looking to go up in size. You said no rubbing at all on stock rims? How much reshaping of fender are we talking about?
