@Empty_Lord What would you guys bill roughly for a valve adjustment for a 2rz?

 

Fords are in front of the Tacoma and therefore are better than Tacomas

 

is that ranger 4wd? it seems like it might be

 

this ticking in my 2rz is making me worried/anxious.

 

I dont mind changing it often, only hate the idea of doing it. Once I get going I dont mind it. Its good to look under the truck and inspect stuff at the same time.


Also, I think a rear brake job is in my future. Not so much for worn shoes, but warped drums. Getting tired of the rumblestrip effect from the rear during hard braking.

Not a clue. We’ve never really done them. I’d assume 3-4 hours

 

If they stop ticking you should be worried. The Toyota tick means it’s working

 

The valves usually tighten up over time not loose

 

I'll be laughing along the way hoping you get that disgusting price

 

Well thats good to know. I've never had it adjusted and im at 230k. The tick seems slightly more pronounced than it ever was or maybe im just more sensitive to engine noises these days.

 

At 290k in my v6 I had 2 barely over spec right valves. Doesn’t hurt to have it done. But doubt you’ll have issues if you don’t uet
