I will keep you updated. They have not been able to resolve other ongoing issues since mile 47.

Looks like the Lemon laws there are pretty good. If you haven’t already, I would check with some lemon law attorneys to see if they think you have a solid case.

Get Toyota involved. File a complaint with them. It’s clearly a defect when your truck was built.

They have been notified and are doing an investigation. I'm going to email and send a certified mail my request.

Just bought a used 2016 SRD with this issue. 36 month warranty has expired, but truck only has 15,000 miles on it. Should I bother with calling Toyota and possibly having to spend $ on the repair, or just silicone? Are you guys just siliconing all around the light, or just the top portion?

File a complaint with Toyota Motor Corp. They should be able to good faith repair the defect since it’s a well known issue in 2016/17s.

They have offered to buy the truck back per Tennessee's lemon law as it is defective, waiting for the offer letter. Props to Toyota for doing the right thing. Rep told me it should be a done deal by the end of the month. I really wish I didn't have so many issues with this truck I would have loved to keep it.

Mine just leaked for the first time about 2 months ago. Almost 4 years old and 50k miles on it. I ran a small bead of silicone all the way around and no more leak.

Ugh, I may just do this. I hate taking my truck to the dealer. I want as few people as possible touching this truck.

you pull the light, silicone, and put back on?

No, left it in place. If I was gonna go thru the hassle of dropping the headliner, I would have bought a replacement. I just got a new tube of silicone, cut the tip as small as it would let me, and ran a nice, smooth bead around it. I figure I can pull it out and re-do it whenever it needs it.

Replacing the housing isn't really that bad. I just did it on my '16. Drop the headliner down just past the overhead light and there are two bolts holding in the housing.

Some pics of the process about half way down -
