BTW... The Prinsu brackets DO NOT FIT the latest version of the 23Zero awnings. The bolt pattern is too narrow on the awning extrusion. Therefore, I'm going to have to modify the hole pattern to accommodate.

Shit. I ordered the ARB ones today. The brackets the foxwing came with are shit and I would NOT trust them. The ARB ones seem more stout and were only $18. If I need to, I can always upgrade, but if these ARB ones work, I saved $65.

I'll shoot you a PM later.

The same shit everyone else has.
I’m looking for a set of small pod style lights to add to the sides of my rack.

I believe alotta you guys refer to them as “scene lights”.

Something small, the smaller the better. I had 2x3 pods and they they were too big. Looking for something half the size or smaller. Surface mount with a 45* angled LED would be ideal. Think 45* angles rock light.

So... I think it will depend on your rooftop tent weather or not the Prinsu brackets will work for you. With the inside O.A.L. of the rack being 47", the Prinsu awning brackets extend an extra 4" inboard. Here are a few pictures for reference:

    [IMG] [IMG]

I did have to slide my TREDs over a little bit to accommodate the width of the new brackets:

While my RTT didn't mount to the Prinsu, it can be used as a reference for dimensions. Judging by the width and mounting conditions, I don't think a 23Zero RTT would fit up there with the Prinsu mounts.

Just a brief update to this thread...

I got the Yescom awning a while back and for yhe money, it's performed really nicely.

However, we got hit by our first real severe monsoon earlier this week. I knew about the fix to flip the awning so the zipper would be on the bottom, but...

...I procrastinated and never did. :anonymous: Oops.

Shit totally filled with water and I had to take it off and open it up in my garage balanced on a couple ladders with a fan to dry it out so I wouldn't get any mold/mildew.

So to anyone who gets the Yescom awning, so yourself a favore and do @eyehate 's fix BEFORE you get too excited about your new awning and mount it up on your rack.

FWIW, I took off one endcap and it was super easy to flip. Embarassed I didn't do that initially.

Is there a way to lock the entire prinsu rack to the truck? I saw a ton of mentions of locking accessories to the rack while searching but didn't see anything about preventative measure to keep the whole rack from being stolen. I spend a lot of time in Denver and have had enough of crackheads ripping apart my truck so want to ensure I am able to secure the entire system before buying.

Everything uses torx bits except for the mounting bolts that use regular bolts. It’d be pretty hard to steal

Does anyone by chance have the dimensions for the lightbar cut out for the windshield in the front or one for trade? I could trade my noncut deflector for one. Really don't want to spend 60 bucks on a deflector when I can just cut mine or trade it out with someone. :p

Ahh sweet! Would ya mind sharing that info with me or PM me please? Got a cross country trip coming up so trying to get my lightbar a little more streamlined.

So it’s mounted on with regular bolts? That sounds kind of easy to steal, after they ripped apart my front end and jacked my spare I wouldn’t put it past them even with my new security system. Dang, wish there was an option to make it more secure.

I mean, at that point you may want to just opt out of any expensive exterior mods if the hood is that shitty.

What happens if you get nice suspension? Come out in the morning to find it on blocks with nothing but the rusty frame left? :bananadead::bananadead::bananadead:

It’s west washington park one of the nicest neighborhoods in the city the police just refuse to patrol. I have toytecs on it and nice rims/tires and they were untouched but my grille was ripped apart

That's really shitty. You may want to get a dashcam that has motion sensors in it. Basically if enough movement is detected (rocking the truck back and forth, etc.) it will start recording.

Also, torx bits are not super common so some consider those "anti-theft" hardware. Honestly any enterprising thief can get some from Harbor Freight but it's not something someone would typically have on them like a regular screwdriver or crescent wrench.

I'm assuming apartments as well? If not, an outside camera is also a decent investment potentially.

It sucks, man. I hate thieves. Too lazy to work for their own shit. One thing that usually helps is because of that laziness, most won't try to take anything that requires much effort so having odd hardware can be a deterrent.

I bet you could swap the standard mounting roof bolts out for some kind of security bolt.

Well I finally got my cabrack mounted. I used @pc3coyote's write up as a guide (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...racks-bs-thread.317754/page-538#post-20432088). The 3/4" punch to get through the trim piece was super easy and much cleaner. A few good whacks and it went right through. Then lots of silicone to seal the holes and then squared everything up before tightening the bolts down. I pre assembled and installed everything in my basement to make sure it was where I wanted it. Then it all came off to make the rook rack easier to install. Once that was done, I put the Maxtrax, Plano case and awning back on.

I took it for a highway run (up to 75mph) and there was no increase in noise or not a substantial increase during the trip. I am quite pleased how it all looks and my only worry now is that it doesn't leak.
