Aside from tracing out the wires, no.

Just installed, going to test it. Didn’t secure everything yet with zip ties, want to make sure everything works, including the switch. All of those are for another day. 115F in my garage, need to do the AC garage mod.

Aww yeah. Might be a week or so until I can install, but I am happy it is here. Thanks!

Got er done! Pretty straightforward following @BigWhiteTRD instructions for passenger side airbag/glovebox removal. I’ll add that I went ahead and just pulled the door sill trim piece and lower kick panel all the way out instead of just popping the top of the kick panel out of the way. They both come all the way out easy.

I zip tied the resistor to the metal bracket shown here in red...
    349353F7-DCBA-4638-BC8F-4212735753FC.jpg

And then ran the switch wire along the round metal pipe, with zip ties shown in blue...

    A3BA7C23-5DA0-48C5-85FB-334B80FFA1E4.jpg

I used the left-most center panel switch position for the new CH4x4 switch. I drilled a small hole in the blank to pop it out, then fished the 2LOPnP harness switch wire through from the passenger side. No additional dash removal necessary.

Tested it all out and put her back together. It’s a little eerie to engage 4WD and not actually drive the front wheels.

Had my wife help me turn the front wheels in real 4x4 and in 2Lo to test - needless to say she did not understand why I was so excited to have “broken” the 4WD in my truck with this “4x4 Trickery”. :D

Thanks @lapoltba for putting this together! Add a 2019 TRDOR6MT to your successful, happy customer list.

    I got mine too!

And...I’m the same. Probably a week or so. I still need to find a switch.

He already has ac in the garage. Start the truck and turn the ac on . It burns less that . 2 gallons an hour idling.

Actually, I have a portable AC unit on wheels, should have plugged that in.

    Disregard the post above.

I plugged the 40 pin connector into the wrong plug. Don’t plug it into the 40 pin on the left side of the ac blower.

Both connections are on the right side in the same location on the 4wd ecu.

    2low kit works great now:facepalm:

I most certainly didn’t do this momentarily, and then also forget to plug that other 40pin connection in after the dash was already back together... :anonymous:

PS, you can get to that other connector with the dash in 1 piece. ;)

Done and done! Install was a breeze. Of course, if you can follow directions, it’s even easier. I recommend reading @BigWhiteTRD ’s write up before diving balls deep into this mod. Between gaining access and having working knowledge of what’s going on behind the scene, you’ll be much more prepared.

Here’s a few pictures I snapped on the install.

I got one from Amazon that has USB type C with PD so it will fast charge my Pixel2. I haven't finished installing it yet, but I did test it and it works pretty damn well. It's going to require some slight trimming but I don't really care. I never use the power socket there anyway.

I would have thought that as well, but just got a camper trailer and it has an observation camera monitor that plugs into the old style 12V socket/lighter, so I'm glad I never permanently replaced mine with USB. Easier to buy the 12V to USB adapter (I have one with USB PD as well for my Pixel 3) that you can pull in and out as needed than to permanently replace the 12V socket and suddenly find you need it.

Heck yeah. $12 on Amazon, IIRC lol.

The factory plug is kind of a bitch to remove, but of course the wiring is very simple.

EDIT: between the two ports is a digital display which reads voltage.

A big Thanks to @lapoltba and @BigWhiteTRD for all the work put into this . Even a procrastinator like me got to it and installed it with ease today . It works flawlessly , I went and did some curvy and steep hilly gravel roads today in 2 low , with and without locker , and all works as promised . To anyone waiting on doing the install - do it .

Yeah I can see that. It all depends on your needs I suppose. I don't think I'll ever have the need for a brake controller, and most anything I would need to plug in, I can use the one in the center console.
