Nothing to add just yet but that makes a good point with all the crap up front. Based on your posts earlier got me looking at the 16O t and Radiator.

i tried this on my 06. it didnt work. the acid wire had about 11v when the ac was off and about 2-2.4v when the ac was on. so i went with the power wire for the compressor in the junction box under the hood. the ac still works better. i have heard a bunch of people here have done that with success.

Was’t available on the FJ either. I tapped the compressor circuit in the fuse box like you. I used a timing relay to hold the fan speed for 30 seconds after the compressor cycles. That way the fan speed doesn’t ramp up and down every time the compressor cycles. Worked really well.

i have 4.10's on 285/70r17. i would have keep the 4.3 rear if they had a matching front at the time i did my conversion. the 4.10's are good, but i feel like im still missing a fair amount of power from stock.

they do make the fj in a manual trans. i took the trans from from one to put in my truck. i choose it due to the better over drive. .799 for the fj and .849 for the tacoma.

I understand. I'll just add more power. 30-40hp from cams and regear should make me smile. or I'll say fuck it and buy hellcat drivetrain .

Night and day. I have kings in all 4 corners, with the sway bar removed. I always felt like my rear was very stiff and would bounce all over the place when going over bumps. Now the rear feels as smooth as the front, and it is a lot more planted/stable but smoother at the same time. I was going to get new leafs but honestly right now I am truely happy with how the truck rides. I will change the springs only when I am forced to by going to a longer shock for more articulation.

Also for everyone talking about running warm, you need hood spacers or something. I have been messing with my ac and today just from opening my hood up my temps dropped from 195.8 to 188-186. I have the heavy duty splash guards a guy sells on here. Removing the cowl seal helped but it’s not enough. I will probably end up putting some holes in those splash guards also to help free up some air flow, along with the hood spacers.

Just did the install. Highly recommended you put them in BEFORE you do the SC, so you don’t have to take it off later. It’s not hard to do, just time consuming and the SC brackets on the drivers side can be a PITA.

Only time I have been unhappy with my gearing is when crawling offroad. I would swap in 4.10s from a 4 cyl if I could find a cheap set, if I was paying fully price probably go 4.30.

when i did the conversion i used a 4cyl complete front diff assembly. the oily difference beside the gear ratio is the carrier for the gear. the housing and bearings are all the same.

Agreed. running kings all around and just did a shock relocate with 12" bypasses in the rear so the custom Deaver set is planned. You can get 12" with the Dakars but folks I chatted with all recommended the Deaver setup based on my truck. Night and day from the Dakar setup. Def want to do the hangars. Now you guys have me looking at the AG. But need to prioritize since thats another $700.

buddy put 4.30's and says its perfect for his LT on 35s. My rig is heavy AF and its pretty good most of the time but those hills kill it.

I agree, the radiators are designed to have a lot of air flowing through them, and mod after mod restricts flow further. E-fan should help on these 100° Utah days.

I like redline products. Mt90 is good stuff especially in the summer months. But I think water wetter isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. It bubbles up way too much. I think distilled water works best. But you gotta maintain from evaporation and take out under 32 degrees
