    Quoting because I'm too lazy to grab my own link - I have the bluedriver by lemur. Reason I got that one even though it is more expensive is as far as I know it's the only one that reads srs (airbag) codes and my airbag light is on. It comes with its own app which has some pretty cool features too - live monitoring like torque although from what I hear not as customizable and the best imo, it doesn't just read the codes it tells you how common they are and what the likely fix is. Well worth it.

    Thanks for the list. But I would add one of those magnets that extends. And a long pair of hemostats and one of those flexible claw things that flare out at the bottom when u push the handle. This stuff is good for when ur spark plug boots tear off down inside the hole cause sometimes they stick to the tube. Especially when they haven't been changed in forever and everything is dry rotted. I speak from experience!! U don't want to be spending all day with a hanger , trying to dig it out. I found a real long pair of needle nose pliers, but they are too big to open once you get them all the way down there. So the hemostats are a life saver.

    Thank you. Oh. I see, my bad. Yes they are not considered the usual tools that would come in a kit. So, sorry. Didn't mean to throw anyone off. But I do keep those in my truck with everything else I need to work on my truck. No shop and my driveway is where I do my repairs, so I keep my tools in my truck. I just got on here and seen where I had a reply. I've been looking at a different thread about valve adjustment. I'm in the middle of doing my valve cover gaskets and everything that goes with it. Like the half moons, cam plugs. Plenum gaskets, PVC valve spark plugs and wires.Ive been waiting for two nice days in a row to do this, for the last month, so today was time to start. I probably could have got it all done today but I didn't start till 10:30 this morning and plus I spent more time cleaning everything. And alot of time polishing the valve covers and plenum, cause I decided to paint those two. I saw a pic were someone had there's powder coated, and it looked good. I couldn't wait on someone to do that for me, cause this is my daily driver and only driver, so I just painted them. So I took alot of time cleaning them and it was almost dark when I got that done. So I just took my throttle body in and cleaned all of that inside after supper. So when I get up in the morning I get to start putting it all back together. I was just thinking about checking my valve clearances before I do. And I believe I will. Cause I just have to pull the number one spark plug and turn the crank bolt to get it to TDC and start checking. But if one or so is too much out, then I'll end up having to tear it all back down at some point. But I'll know what to order, when I do. Hopefully it will be alright, cause she runs smooth. Which was amazing cause of all the gunk that was in the throttle body, but the valves were pretty clean other than when this had been done by the previous owner, he used way too much grey RVT, and it was all around in there. So I spent more time than anything, cleaning all of that up. I see why they say to use black RVT and not grey ,on the oil prone areas. I'll get this done tomorrow and then start planning on the timing belt stuff. The previous owner said he had the water pump replaced, and the belt looked brand new, but I just don't know if the guy replaced the seals and pulleys and thermostat and that stuff? If he did,then it only has about 15,000 on it, so it should be good for a while,but he can't tell me if the guy replaced all of that, so I'll have to plan for it. I got a set of upper and lower ball joints, but I'm not in to much of a hurry about that, cause they aren't worn out. Even at 210,000!!. It was a California hyw driven truck.I do have a small oil leak that I hope this job I'm doing will take care of, but it seems like it's dripping of the bracket for the air. So I'm not sure? I think some of it is coming from the oil pan seal, but the bracket is above it. So I'm hoping this will take care of it and it's not a front main seal, it seems to be on the passenger side of the pan seal and above the seal also. So I might just plan on doing the pan seal next. That's if I can get another two nice days in a row. Cause I'll have to drop the front diff. And I don't know how that will be? It seems pretty much straight forward, but those are the kind of jobs that can cause alot of cussing, frustration and high blood pressure!! But I've replaced both CV's , so that part won't take me long. It's just wrestling with the diff, by myself. Getting it in and out? Oh-well. Live and learn!!!
