Yeah they clearly didn't see the value in any of the mods if they’re going to list it at like KBB price.

    What a Sunday evening.

Oil change time for the truck, no BFD. Drain old oil, replace filter, dump in 5 quarts, then grab my 1qt bottle to top off. It's an old bottle, but oil is oil in this case, right? Open it and start pouring.

The crap is dark brown. Stop pouring. Do the sniff test. Smells like a combination of 90w gear oil and ATF. I noticed that whatever it is, it's denser than 5w30, so maybe a little antifreeze mixed in there, too. I must have dumped my drain pan leftovers into an old quart bottle and forgot to recycle it, somehow. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid, Stupid.

Drain allllll the oil again, take the Nevada Standard Issue Import SUV (4Runner) to Wally World, get more oil, replace oil and call it done.

Seems to run OK, probably only got 8 ounces in before I realized my mistake. Since it was denser than motor oil, when I pulled the plug, I could smell the crap. Nice thing is the rest of the new oil on top of it helped flush and push it out. And I hadn't started the engine yet, so it never circulated.

Totally screwed up a nice, relaxing Sunday evening and I never got to toss my trout from Saturday in the smoker. I'll have to do that tonight before I start screwing around on the milling machine.

Course, now it's Monday, I'm at work, and I'm already thinking about which river/creek I want to visit Saturday for the purposes of scaring and abusing fish. It's like a disease. :)

Just saw this thread. Looks like a leaking timing chain cover and a common issue and a lot of work for them to fix. Should be covered under powertrain warranty though. Now that I’m thinking about it I don’t think they even looked in the right place even though when I brought it in I popped the hood and showed them where the leak was.
