Got mine in, do I need anything else to get my tailgate to open on auto? I have the pop lock thingy already installed

Is there any type of lockout so if you take the truck in for service or valet park it, the driver doesnt open the tailgate by mistake? I can see a service guy or valet pushing the unlock button several times to find the truck and if parked close to another vehicle or backed up against a wall, it could potentially open and damage the tailgate.

I personally never valet my vehicles unless I absolutely have to, but i do take it in for service on occasion.

Nope not currently but that is a good idea. I could add some logic to the board. Probably would have to use the push button. Something like, if you push and hold the button for over 5 seconds it will disable the 3x unlock. 5 seconds again to reenable.

Could be done relatively easily.

Also fwiw people still got a few of these left in batch #1.

 

For the people that have purchased the v2 as well as the the rest of the parts from KTJO 4x4 , I have posted a how to install the actuator and bracket in this thread linked below .

Cool. If that could be programmed in a future release, that would be awesome! I have seen service people push the unlock multiple times so for me, that would be a must have. I would have tried inserting an inline switch to turn it off somehow but i like your programming on the momentary switch even better! Thanks!

 

The inline switch would work as well, I am planning on taking a look at that on Tuesday I think when I get some time. For requests like these that come up I am open to doing some one off requests for just labor costs, so if you have any ideas just pm me. If I decide they are good enough to implement I will work out something for existing users to update their software for cheap/free if they want.

 

Also an update, 7 or so left in stock. Existing orders are looking like they will ship Wednesday. Ill keep you all posted.

now waiting for the Bolt-N-Open kit to be sent out by @KTJO 4x4 ,
and also waiting @DSIM 's module.
Who do I get the B-Harness from to connect to the Tailgate button/switch?

 

I was lucky to try out the v1 Tailgate Openers and I am even luckier to have one of the 1st v2 Tailgate Opener . The new sizes helps a lot with tucking the device in the back pocket of the floor way out of the way and protected by the side plastic . I add a few zip ties to keep the A-harness neat . Overall it’s a clean and simple install . Those that have one on order won’t be disappointed .
