There’s a thread about same problem posted a few weeks ago. Four 2019 Tacoma fuel pump failures. I believe 2 are waiting for parts, two had it fixed. I had my hpfp replaced..

    Little cheaper than parts geek

take the camry and get it stuck in the mud then call them and explain how it's their fault

Wow, 25k only and fuel pump is dead. Now I don't trust my new tacoma anymore. I would hate to go offroad out of no where and the pump shit itself. Are you sure no one is dumping shit into your fuel tank since it isn't lockable.

If they are on backorder, I'm sure lots of Tacoma's fuel pump are shitting itself, therefore are in demand.

Is this the same pn for all 3.5’s? Or did something change in 2019 models?

there has been a TSB on the HPFP's from day 1 of the 2016 models.. but that was for a squeeky/noisey pump

T-SB-0016-18: Chirping Noise From High-Pressure Fuel Pump *thread link*

TSB list can be found here....https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/list-of-t-sbs-etc.562671/

I am about to bring my tacoma in for this very issue, was not evident in winter, but when i go for a drive, and the truck running at a stop sign, or I park to get something out of the house and leave it running, i get this annoying squeek from the front of the truck.. at just over 30k this should'nt be happening.. looked up pricing on the pump.. on rockauto.com the HPFP is over $700-1000... THANK GOD FOR WARRANTIES.. hopefully my dealer doesnt do the... "thats normal for a tacoma.."..

they pulled that on me when the "vibration under braking.." was noticed on my first service.. T-SB-0023-18 R1: Rear Vibration or Noise While Braking...... after i bought the 2016 TRD OR in october of 2018..

I guess I am not understanding why Toyota would be back ordered on a part (assuming it is the HPFP) that TW has little record of a failure issues with? Noisy pumps yes, but failed pumps? I think we would have seen a few of those pissed off threads....

My story is different . Here in Hawaii you have to be 25 to rent a car under your own name . I don’t know if any other states have this same rule . My dealer ship insisted that I had to pay for my own rental and that they didn’t want to give me a loaner because that’s only for “extended warranty “ from what they said I called bs and complained to the main boss and they ended up giving me a used crv loaner

BUT BY POLICY Toyota is suppose to either (1) set you up for a rental (that they pay for ) until your truck is done or (2) give you a loaner car from there lot .

UPDATE: I called corporate today they told me basically they pay the dealer for loaners but have no control over what they have on the lot said most dealers may have a truck or two to loan but may not. Lady told me to talk to the customer relations person at dealer to see if they could do anything. Also set up a case number and told me they would have a supervisor take the case of helping find a pump to get it to dealer quicker than the dealer could get one by themselves. Not real sure how that works.
