Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

I have a heavy truck. I need the extra throttle to get her moving. I’ve had no problems in wet or off-roading with the strong throttle. I have however almost gotten into an accident making a left turn because the truck didn’t move when I hit the gas.

 

Are you saying this isn't happening to everyone with the EROM 2.0 Beta 3?
Time for science people.
Turn on ECT and drop a brick on the accelerator from something less than 40MPH and hold it until you hit 70ish. Does it shift into 3rd?

04b04 here - never experienced the failure to shift, FWIW.

 

If you have larger than stock tires it could be why you're hitting the fuel cut limiter my truck used to do that with 33.9" diameter cooper STT pro's I had. My fix was to get used to letting up off the accelerator just before I knew it would shift so I wouldn't be without power while the truck recovered.

 

I have a stock 2019 TRD Pro with 04B31 on 93 octane and it did this on the first 'pull' in ECT mode right after I flashed to 2.0 beta.

 

Welcome to TW. You do not need to do anything. The tune will adjust to any octane.

Folks really just flash the truck and not even read the instructions...

 

Well if you can't get it to do it again I wouldn't worry about it I know the first time it happened to me I was pulling out into oncoming traffic and had an oh shit moment. But if I remember correctly Matt had fixed that before by adjusting the shift point.

Is there a thread on how to do this with techstream or the data logger on the OV flash manager? Yes, I searched but probably could have done better.

Just stock tires for now. I haven’t tried to replicate it again because it was a bit disconcerting. So far that’s the only thing I haven’t liked about the Beta. There really aren’t too many situations where I need to floor it that hard, so I’m waiting until the tune settles in a bit more before pushing boundaries.

Hey guys. 04B31. Just filled up 10 gallons with 93 octane on top of 87. Did a couple spirited pulls. I’ll be darned but it totally runs and pulls better. Have to re-think my cheap-O approach to fuel costs. Got much better mileage too.

 

Is this BETA not available to 2018 04A60 AT?

 

I have 4.88's with stock tires and no extra weight. truck drives awesome. My only issue is tip in is a slight touchy, not as much as the previous performance tunes. This of course may get better with more weight on the truck.
