Good luck. Anything over 17-18" gets a lot of hate here.

He's got a sport model so I think we'll let him slide. I had 19's on my '05 4x2 SR5 but it had tiny tires on it and I ended up bending both right side rims from a pothole. Four other cars were pulled over with flat tires and one guy actually cracked his rim from that pothole.

The TireRack simulator is not terrible at showing you what various rims will look like on your truck so you could give that a shot if you h haven't already.

Thread should be relabeled... "How to make your Tacoma look like a Circus Wagon..." Humming the Circus theme now. It's stuck in my head, now

If done right it looks good. But when it’s 2wd with MTs then that’s a shame.

My 20s are put to good use... and it was either ugly 17s or 20s... so yea

I don’t get that, 2WD needs the best tire possible off-road, and you don’t need 4WD for a lot normal off-road stuff.
What’s stupid is any form of off-road tire on a 20” rim that’s not shod with a 37”+ tire. Airing down is the most important thing to do off-road, and you simply can’t do that appropriately with a low profile tire. That’s why there is the hate for off-road tires without appropriate sidewall. Ie 20” rim with 33” MT rubber.

20” wheel shod with low profile road-rubber on a non lifted truck is perfectly fine and probably a dam good choice for many in how they use their trucks.

I agree with what you’re saying. I guess what I’m saying is 2wd lifted with MT for show is a shame

Good idea, OP. I think it's fruit-goofy, but I commend your confidence. This should attract any man who's also attracted to goth styling. Best of luck.
