Anyone with HIDs?

So I’m already aware of the thread with LEDs and HIDs versus halogen. I’m just wondering if anyone out there with HIDs have any issues or recommend a certain brand I work nights and I’m looking for a better solution down the dark road I have to drive to and from work. Any help is appreciated

 

I have HIDs on my truck. I installed the Xenon Depot HID kit 4300k 35W. Well worth the price. I too work at night. The only issue I had was to aim my lights down due to constantly getting high beamed by on coming traffic. Once I got the lights aimed down, no more getting high beamed at night. The light output is night and day difference. Just installed Morimoto 2 stroke 2.0 LEDs for high beams. I'm quite impressed with the light output from these LED bulbs.

 

I’ve done some research a little bit but how exactly do you aim them down

 

If you look at the headlight assembly, there is an 8mm bolt. That bolt adjusts the up and down angle of the headlights.

 

I'm running the morimoto 35w kit from TRS, very very rarely do people high beam me, they work great.

 

If this is a road with no, or limited, oncoming traffic, a light bar would work well. Can be subtle in the bumper.

 

Not the best picture, but I went with the ddm 35w kit.
There is a little shake from the bulbs when you hit bigger bumps in the road, but overall it's pretty solid.

I went this Xenon Depot kit as well. Best upgrade I’ve done. Still get excited by the blast of light vs the stocks. For a comparison, I still have stock high beams. They throw maybe 10% further than HID’s but are narrower and much less bright.

35W Morimoto Elite kit from TRS

I have had to swap out a ballast and bulb that weren't working properly but TRS dealt with it well.

The light output is fantastic.

 

I went with the morimoto 35w kit with 5500k xb bulbs and recently upgraded bulbs to the Phillips xtr xv2 4800k. No issues here

I also don’t really understand this bulb shake I keep hearing about. When you go over a bump or rough road your whole truck shakes to some extent so it’s only natural the lights will follow the same motion.

Been thinking of going back to DDM for HID's since I had them in my 2014 camry. I have LED's in my taco right now, but waiting for them to die out.

No possible way to get rid of the shakes?

 

Ive had the lights for about 2 months, the only time I see the shakes is when I hit big pot holes. Normal driving they dont shake at all, rock solid. I think ive seen them shake 3 times total while driving, and its always been on the same stretch of road near my house thats really beat up.

 

Don’t drive on any bumpy roads

if you hit a bump in the road and you feel it, is the lights not supposed to be effected? Not like we have bulbs on a gyroscope type thing

 

Just looked at there website, there were extra options like relays and code eliminators. Which options did you go with?

 

Just the basic kit. we dont have headlights that run all that garbage (cough cough ford)
