Gentlemen.........it has arrived.

 

Question for you pulley monsters. Do I need to put locktite on these screws? Or will snugging them right suffice?

 

snug is good. blue locktite is cheap insurance.

 

3 years later. Proud of you man.

I tighten them with the will of 1000 fiery hells and they have never given me issues.

 

With the 1/8" (or whatever size it is) Allen wrench. Snipe that shit!

 

Might as well trim the snout while the pulley's off. I use the blue stuff as well for insurance.

 

I just put in whatever size fits, double check that there is no play to prevent rounding of the heads and just crank away. Lol.

 

Mine are manually tightened only, and I've yet to have anything loosen-up. Loctite if it gives you peace of mind but, IMO, it's not necessary.

That’s what I was thinking......plus undoing it someday, like if I was gonna go smaller ( which I’m not) would probably be a pain in the ass.

 

My man has been an ongoing observer of this thread for a long time. He generally gathers as much data as he can before he does a mod and he puts a lot of forethought into it. If you follow anyone's advice on this thread @JuanitoBunito you are safe to follow Norton's.

BTW, @JuanitoBunito, can't remember if you did the MT Accumulator Delete Mod (ADM) or not? If not, I HIGHLY recommend it - that and the Rev Hang Delete tune @JustDSM worked with @HPTuners to develop are two of the best mods I've done (next to the S/C and smaller pulley, of course).

Yes - the setup is virtually identical.

The kit is the "easy" button, but even it requires a little final fitment bending. FWIW, you can purchase the parts for quite a bit less and just bend the line yourself. No special tools are required - just bend slowly/carefully around a round object like a dowel to prevent kinking.

 

Yeah this looks extremely easy. I can’t believe I never looked into this, for as much as I’m on here. So the kit is $75....and correct me if I’m wrong but the parts come out to something like $10 give or take right?......it’s just a pice of line and the double female fitting.

 

well shit. new belt was a hassle. upon taking the tensioner bracket off the stud backed out and the main serpentine belt had to be reset. apparently that didnt work out well as half way home i overheated. guess my sepentine is stuck. lightning and rain storm to walk home in. towing it back tmrw to fix. hope it runs ok after today
