I want to be able to use my back up camera anytime I want to check on a very small trailer that I tow. Has anyone or can anyone tell me how to put in a switch to turn on my back up camera when not in reverse?? I would like the reverse lights to not come on as well but could put up with that if it was easier. thanks.

yeah, there's a thread about it somewhere on here. some guy was able to wire a 3-stage switch right above his rear view mirror. one stage is camera on, other stage is off, and the third stage makes it function as normal.

he did mention that the camera only stays on for 2 minutes, though. after that, it will automatically turn off. you have to toggle to switch to get it back on. i experienced this, actually...i left my car in reverse while on a phone call, and my camera turned off after awhile.
