For sure! The guys who are not seriously wheeling their trucks are not gonna have as many fitment issues as those who hit trails hard.

I personally drive my truck around town every day, it’s probably one pavement 95% of the time. But when I do get out to go camping or do some trails offroad I like to really rip things up- with that said I’m not into serious rock crawling either... so I’m sure wheel clearance is different for everyone.

I think you’ll have to ditch the cab.

But seriously. I don’t know what you did to have to cut what you did to fit 35’s. You could take your pics and put them in the 2nd gen 37 thread and they’d look like everyone else’s pics.

It really depends on what he wants. He absolutely wont have to tub for 35s. He doesnt need glass, but if he fucks up his stock fenders when/if he fucks them up, then sure, why not?

He may need fender trimming, he may not.

I 100 percent will say if the op gets a plus 2 lt kit, then runs 35s, on factory fenders he absolutely will have to cut his fenders at least at the bottom just to drive on the road.

Literally don’t have a problem with doing anything on that list. It’s actually cutting my fender flares and the big body aesthetic things I want to avoid. I don’t understand how some people can fit 35s with minor plastic trimming and cmc, then others decide they need to break out the welder and go to town?

It will come down to your alignment and backspacing. If you go really wide with an LT or small backspacing and wheel spacers you may have to cut your flares.

The window is getting the right backspacing to clear the UCA, inside the fender and alignment to push your wheel forward to clear the the Cab Mount

Different needs/wants/setups/budgets. I didn't "need" a cab mount relocate kit but I have 2 welder friends who work for beer and the kit was cheap so why not. That being said I could have gotten away with a BMC. People like to make their rigs their own.

I also think some of the discrepancies that we are finding here is that we have guys with 2nd gens telling a 3rd gen what may and may not effect him.

I've found that 3rd gens from my research are easier due to being taller from the factory than a factory 2nd gen.

I'm not saying those of you with experience in the 2nd gen world don't know or aren't relevant, it may just be that the trucks are slightly different, about an inch. And that's all it really takes to fit a larger tire

Wow! Guys I really appreciate all the info. I definitely did not expect so much conversation on this topic! What I’m gathering is that I can clear 35s with minimal plastic trimming, cmc, uca, and alignment. MIGHT have to trim fender flares. If I want to make full use of my suspension though, I may need more?

This is what I found interesting. When test fitting my tire, I was making contact with the front core support and wheel well at full bump and steering almost locked. I dont even have the standard 3.5* caster, which is why I have to cut the firewall on my specific truck but that’s a one off case. Is this an issue for you guys with 3.5* + of caster?

Literally just want to fit 315/75/16 KM3s, so it’s not a true 35 in width or height but it’s very close. I don’t know anything about UCA but I’m planning on total chaos unless you recommend something different?

Go light racing. Cheaper more adjustability. Just my opinion for what it's worth.

He has a 2nd gen if I'm correct.

You need to look at that fitting 35s thread joecova put up there earlier.

The only reason you should need to tub is running 37s without rclt.

We aren’t talking about the firewall. I’m talking about the core support. I did indicate I had a 2nd gen in one of my original posts when I answered the OPs original question about backspacing.

Forgive my complete lack of knowledge here... is that a UCA manufacturer?

Lol sorry does “tub” stand for something? And yes I’ve read that thread and it was great. Just wasn’t sure cause I’ve heard SO MUCH about extra trimming and welding people have had to do!
