I guess the advantage is you could use any system with a way to transfer the files to the tablet without needing to install anything on it. For some folks it is a challenge where just downloading from anywhere and copying to the tablet might be easier to attain....or get a kiddo to help with.

    Do you have 4.88 gears?

Just asking because I think some guys are running the 4.88 tune on stock gearing.

Yes 4.88s with 1.05. I do have a bigger aftermarket transmsission cooler and pin the trans thermostat wide open when I'm towing. I may not need to pin it anymore with the gearlock. I'm hoping the next beta has the 4.88 option. Would love to try!

    This was super helpful!
Downloaded the TS v14 last night from your drive and followed the step by step in the first link. One thing I did not do was to go into the Techstream program folder and replace the "mainmenu.exe" file as your zipfolder did not contain a replacement file. I just installed TS, launched TS and followed the process until I got to the ID, then opened the sketchy looking "techstream-act" and got the key from there.

It was a little scary to allow these install/download when the virus blocker would pop up and declare that the files are super sketchy and full of virus' HAHA!

Going to try the ECU update once my OVTune kit comes in.

    Thanks!

    You're welcome.

It sounds like you did a good job. Yeah, I had a good laugh at the keygen program. Pretty much any program like TS tosses up a/v warnings.

I'm glad that it went smooth for you. Enjoy the utility!

I'm assuming by dongle you mean the part that plugs into your trucks OBDII port. We refer to that as the adapter.

If you have recently purchased your kit you do not have a dongle (hardware key). You are probably trying to use the PCMFlash utility instead of the P5Flash utility.

I love the 2.0 build 16012 so much!!

I don’t know what can be better than that, not sure if I even want to try the next beta update this weekend...

Hello yes I received the reg file from Mathew. I downloaded the file already and followed the instructions to get ecu id. Really hate to say it but not the best at computer tech... Should I try to reinstall the flash manager? Really appreciate the feedback, hoping to solve it and be tuned!

I had the same problem. I had to white list both the OpenECU and OVTune folders in my antivirus program.

You will probably need to disable your antivirus. In addition, you should run the update utility in flash manager. I believe it is under "help" at the top. Make sure that it completes with no errors.

I'm running 1.05 87 base, 33's and stock gears. My MPG is registering slightly better then yours but not much - 16.7 MPG. Then again my driving isn't exactly docile.
Remember, if you're running 33's and have not corrected the speedometer, multiple distance and MPG by 1.06 for truer numbers.
100 miles on the odometer is actually 106 miles and 16.1 MPG is actually 17.066 MPG.
