    scared you huh?

A Wrangler in our shop; the actual tailgate/tiregate is crumpling on its own after only 30k miles on it.

Has 35" tires all around, including the spare.

haha I was like, that doesn't look like yours but damn that would be surprising

So he put a 35" tire on his stock tire carrier? yeah that'll probably do it

Let me guess they put an oversized tire on the factory one that bolts to the tailgate

    Yep!

I'd hate to have to replace that spare if I was having to do a fix while on the trail...

Going the bussmann route is definitely more involved and more coin than a Blue Seas but also much cleaner and no more rats nest. Currently building one and also adding an aux fuse panel to the cap/bed area. When I mounted the LED pods to the roof rack, I figured it was going to be an easy job. Then I got the idea in my head to have a switch panel inside the cap to activate the lighting (in addition to the cab mounted switches) and it spiraled into complexity... Really isn't that difficult once you figure out your initial build.

I read through that thread and thats what I was planning to do. I know jack and shit about electronics but I can follow instructions pretty well. I was curious if that would work on our 1st gens, guess its universal yeah?

Will definitely work. Paranoid Fab has a panel for the bay - https://www.paranoidfabrications.co...products/1st-gen-tacoma-bussmann-relay-holder

Have to stress, its certainly more involved than say wiring up the Blue Seas and having your relays mounted separately. I just didn't want to go the easy route this time and use wiring harnesses off Amazon. It was time to build my own. Then of course that separate switch panel in the back of the truck idea...

Aside from the thread tacozord created here, he also posted it on his site/blog.

Paranoid also has his switch plate back in stock. Good product.

Yeah I had a feeling it will be more involved and I will be asking a shit ton of questions lol. But if I go that route I will learn it vs just buying a harness.

I've been asking a ton of q's so trust me, you're not alone. Even when you think you have your head wrapped around how it works, you read a post and then start questioning everything all over again.
