    Workin' on it....
Pro: Vastly improved ride quality and frame stiffness with the cross bar (but I haven't actually driven mine yet so I'll have to report back once I finish torquing the bolts up), no chance of any bending of a shackle hanger with these, greasible shackles and more shackle drop out, mild lift (.5")

Cons: Altering frame by cutting off the OEM shackles and drilling out the rivets, drilling out the rivets.......did I mention drilling out the rivets?, possibly some interference issues with some leaf packs (OME Dakar HD packs).

Lots of info to go through in this thread:

If your end links are old enough to need replacement your sway bar bushings are probably weedy too. They're a cheap and easy "while you're there."

Taking them off is pretty straightforward, you may need a hex key to hold the shaft (heh) from spinning. Jack up the entire front (or rear) of the vehicle.

Once you have gotten the old ones off, be sure to loosely install both sides before tightening them down- just finger tight on one side will make your life so much easier when you get to the other side and try to line things up.

Worked on the blown out carrier bearing and transmission service. Still working on it but very close. The transmission pan gasket is so damn stuck. The drive shaft is back in with the new carrier bearing and seal.

Just replaced the light bulb in my pool. Always nerve racking since its 400 goddam watts and goes under water. Also it was $40 f**king dollars.

Almost got mustang'd by a mustang tonight who thought it would be cool to attempt a drift turning on to the 101. Nearly went into the side of my truck on the exit of the corner. Didn't have the red wheels so wasn't the Krustang

We replaced ours with an LED version last summer.

I've been messing with our pool too, new weir (flapper) door gets hung up and it looses prime. Held it down with a rock but can't get it to prime now.

So I am posting this while still quite heated. NEST/ GOOGLE can suck a dick. I cannot believe that after spending 2 hours on the phone, going through all the tech support and hoop-jumping, they say, "OH, Your unit is out of warranty." Lick my sweaty ball sack NEST/GOOGLE. Yeah damn right, its 92 in my house because your piece of shit thermostat is broken. NOT my AC unit.

BEWARE! THESE ARE ONLY GOOD FOR 25 MONTHS ON A 24 MONTH WARRANTY!

I'm going back to a damn mercury t-stat.

    edit-

I raised hell and got a free replacement, but I have to send the old one back. I did also get an original Honeywell round dial that works and is cooling my fam. I'm still hot but at least not out 3hundo for a new t-stat.

dang. was that just the bulb? I had to replace the entire unit as the internal GFCI was burned. That was near $150

Ready to be installed tomorrow!! So much work to get the old gasket off. Luckily there isn't really any on the transmission itself. :rasta:

I think I need to do that too. Mine just keeps tripping the GFCI that is over by the switch.

:burnrubber: Man I certainly hope so!! If anything it will be so damn clean when I have to take it all back apart and rebuild the motor and transmission. Haha:headbang:

    That blows!

I was curious if these devices had the same shelf life of cell phone circuitry.

The biggest thing that scares me with my Nest thermostats are power surges. No surge protection on them so the will be susceptible to getting fried during lighting storms. Even shocking them with static electricity from carpet could do damage.

Kind of want to look further into these to try and help keep all the electronics in the house not on surge protection safe.

Yeah just the bulb and gasket. It lasted exactly a year but only using it once in a while.

I have 2 Nests at my cabin, both are solid and never had issues. I like the ability to turn the AC on before I head up so it's nice and cool when I get there. Or when my dumb ass sister leaves the heater on I don't have to drive up there and shut it off. So being able to turn both units on/off remotely is a great solution for my cabin.

When I had them at my house they worked really good as well they are just not compatable with my new AC unit. Honeywell is the only one who makes a T-stat that works with my AC system and it's a pile of shit. I've been through 4 of them in 5 years (they die all the time). You have to have a gateway box hooked up to your router (Lame). And it's hideous and the UI sucks ass and the touchscreen feels like it came out of something form the 90's.

Not true at all. I travel roughly 50% of the year for work and go camping on a whim constantly. Being able to double check that the AC isn't cranking when Im away gives me piece of mind that Im not burning cash. Knowing that even if I forget to change it or look at the app, it automatically puts itself into eco mode if nobody is in the house. Sitting on a plane returning from a work trip and being able to log into the Nest when Im two hours away so I can drop the temp of the house back down to comfy for when I arrive. My favorite piece of technology is my Nest.

I have a pre-Google-takeover Nest...had my new Trane XR18 system installed last month that came with its own "smart" thermostat. It sucked, so back went the Nest...

In other news, since my truck is paid off now and my birthday is in a week, time for a present. Not ready to lift it yet, but want some additional support in the rear for my camping load out. Any suggestions you have experience with...AAL, new packs, air bags?
