getting a very loud single pop noise from the front end of my truck when turning. Does it turning left or right and it comes from both sides of the truck, louder from the drivers side though. In the past few months I’ve replaced lca bushings, lower ball joints, axles, radiator support bushing, cab mount bushings and regreased uca bushings.

Had it at 2 different shops and they can’t find anything causing it. They can put a jack under the frame and start up with it and soon as it starts up POP. You can pretty much feel it coming from everywhere. Any thoughts, anyone every experienced the same thing?

Do you think it's suspension related? Sounds potentially like motor mounts thus rocking the motor back and forth?

Also, isn't your truck on Craigslist right now? It was for sale in Knoxville then noticed it moved

Checked the sway bar? Maybe something is hitting it or the end links are loose.

Also check your cam bolts, if they are loose (not torqued enough) they will clunk.

Lca cam bolts need to be torqued to 100 lb/ft. I had a loud pop sound after an alignment because they weren't properly tightened

I believe it has to be something suspension related. I pulled my lawnmower trailer the other day and noticed it after I unhooked and drove the next day.

And yes it is for sale.

Sway has been gone. Dropping it at another shop tomorrow. I’ll let them know about the cam bolts.

Also if this helps. The guys at the shop bounced on the front bumper and could make it do it but it would only do it as they pulled back up. It’s like it had to compress all they way and when it came back up past normal sitting height it would pop

Ok so the shop said they tightened all kinds of stuff including the lca bolts. The noise is a little different but still there in every turn.

LCA bolts to 100 Ft Lb No more, and especially important - no less. Do you have a torque wrench? Don't trust that you shop did this

Yeah I’ve got one. Just been super busy and no time to do anything really. I’ll check it out this weekend though

What LCA bushings did you use? If Moog, that could be the problem; they are known to spin in place due to bad tolerances. Some TW members have spot welded them in place. Could also be the ball joint if it was not installed correctly.

Had another shop yesterday look at it. Ended up putting about 120 ft lbs on the lca bolts. Noise is still there but very faint

Also had them remove my front diff drop. Heard that it doesn’t help and some say they does. So between snugging the lca bolts a little more and diff drop removal the sound is almost gone. Hearing that about the moog lca bushings does make sense. May try the tack weld trick

Check out post #598. Post 814 and 826 mention tack welding. Someone posted pics but I couldn't find them.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-lca-bushing-replacement-2005-tacoma-4x4.176250/page-30

I bought Moog's also, about a year ago; I pressed one front bushing into my OEM LCA; it went in so easy, I set it aside and bought Mevotech bushings. I posted a pic (can't find it now) of the two bushings side by side where you can really tell the difference in contact surface between the bushing and LCA. The Moogs, if I recall correctly, had about quarter inch wide contact; the Mevo's close to half an inch. I haven't finished refurbishing my OEM LCA's; so, can't really say the Mevo's are better than the Moog's, nj636, who posted the video, went with Mevo's and had no issues with them.

Needle bearing has slop like everyone’s does I guess. Doesn’t make that much noise though
