I know there are some threads about debadging our trucks. I may have posted on a one of them because I already took off my bedside stickers and pillar vinyl. I was hesitant to remove the "Tacoma" badge from the doors. Now I think I want to remove them, but it's going to be a year that I have the truck. If I remove them now would there be any ghosting?

You don't buy a truck for its fucking fenders!

What color is the truck? I can't imagine there would be any color change in a year. (But I'm no paint scientist!)

Really only one way to know for sure.

I did mine after about a year, Quicksand and no ghosting.

Just clay barred and waxed my truck this weekend, so much easier without the plastic chrome bits.

I have a tiny amount of ghosting on my MGM when I debadged a few weeks back. If you know to look for it, are close, and catch just the right angle/light, you can see it.

I've had more time in the sun, so you may have nothing.

I took my badges off after 3 years and had no issues. I’m pretty OCD but don’t see any ghosting on white Tacoma.

We de-badged my son's silver 2006 4Runner in 2018 and there wasn't any ghosting at all.

This post here should give you somewhat of an idea on what you may see. Isn't bad to be honest.

Nah you'll be fine. I did mine after 2 years in the Guam sun and I had barely any ghosting that only I could see (really all I could make out was a faint outline on a couple letters here and there). After a solid wash/wax/detail and a few months they're completely gone. Your truck will look better without em.

I debadged and removed the bed decals on my friends silver sky metallic after 2 years. If you look really closely, you can see where the decal used to be. The badges way less so though

Just took them off. Even after sitting in 90° heat all day it was a PITA :annoyed: to take them off. Good thing is there is no ghosting :D.

EDIT: looks a lot better now IMO.

Glad you decided to take off the pillar vinyl as well. Looks way better w/o them.

To each their own, I just hated the fact it was a sticker

Leave the truck in the sun for a while so they get hot and they come right off. Probably 10 min max to take them off.
