Bald Eagle State Forest is a pretty amazing place. Going back again next weekend.

It's pretty neat, but I guess it loses some of it's charm when you've lived against it most of your life.

Been a while since I've seen a post from you. I thought you must've been working too much to grace us with your presence. Ready for hunting season?

It is one that is on my list. Penn State have been doing a deer research project in bald eagle and rothrock state parks for the better part of a decade. Reading through the blog and seeing some of the pics in here, I definitely want to spend some time there. RB Winter state park is also on the list along with Rickett's Glen.

Pulled the trigger on the fend-x wheel liners. It just seems like the best solution for replacing the OEM without going completely DIY. I thought about using some tractor trailer mudflaps, but ultimately I think this is a better solution. Can't wait to see what fuckery I get into installing them on the trimmed fenders. Making shit work is half the fun though right.

Bald Eagle is great, everything from Blue trails down to gravel roads suitable for a BMW. They also have the numbered camp sites which are fantastic private sites for a small group.

I didn't even know that there were trails, so that is a plus. I really need to start to get a grasp where to go that has more than forest roads to drive. I've found some remote spots in ANF, but no trails open to full size vehicles. Good roads to drive into places to hunt though.

Too bad there wasn't a PA wheeling spots sticky

Finally be able to see out of my windshield. Triaxle spit up a rock last spring, it only chipped back then but with the summer heat came a big crack all the way up the middle. Can't really tell from the picture how bad it was.

Well if you guys ever come up you're welcome to the garage, I'd be happy to come hang out even if not camp.. since it's hard to get very far from my house and still be in bald eagle.

I wish PA was more like WV in this.. WV is like fuck it camp wherever. PA wants you to be in designated spots.

https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/frame-coverage-for-2011.590939/ Just in case any of you 11-17's aren't aware of the frame program that is coming. This definitely makes me feel better. I started FF last year, but it went 4 years untreated before i started taking care of it. My frame isn't bad to me, but there is definitely more rust than I would like.

There are apparently 2 new programs. It takes a few pages of reading in the link i had above, but it seems like this is just starting to get put into place and will take a little time. I just wanted to get the info out there for anyone that it might benefit.

Just be aware of the horror stories that are floating around regarding these frame replacements. Sadly the tech's don't always care and break things, don't tighten bolts, etc. Personally I'd only do it if absolutely necessary. Their "coating" program is also a joke, and only covers their butts. You'll be left with undercoating on/over everything (they won't tape off/cover anything). As I said, I'm sure there are a few decent dealers out there who do them right but I've seen/heard of some really bad jobs.
