Finished the install on the drivers side today. I did a lot of modding of the fendx and I am happy to say they respond very well to heat forming. I did a fender trim and made new liner mounts. Because of this my install was not even close to out of the box but they worked fantastic!

 

That would definitely look better than stock liners folded over and sticking out below the bumper...
But it'll have to wait, my depleted mod fund got stretched again with unexpected hit... to the driveshaft, by a big rock

Care to elaborate more on how you mounted them to the trimmed fenders/flares? Did you end up using 1" L brackets as was discussed earlier or a different method?

 

Any full liners for 5th gen 4Runner?

Where was that at Seb?

 

Mine should be delivered this morning. Question for those who has installed with trimmed fenders. I have no idea what I'm doing, and have very little mechanical ability. I also have a slightly OCD eye though. I've been thinking about this for 2 months figuring out the best way to install. Please chime in with any pointers, but here is my basic plan.

Using carriage bolts to fill the old fender flares square holes (going to do regardless) I've been thinking about fabbing or sourcing L brackets to bolt to the carriage bolts, essentially giving me more of a stock mounting point on the fenders. I thought about jb welding them into place, but would prefer a bolt and nut I think. Tacking them into place could be done, but I'm not a welder and thin sheet metal is asking for me to just start burning through and making more of a project.

Again any insight or advice would be much appreciated!

 

That was at AOAA, trail 11 - Green. It was an easy trail, except for that washed out part.
