NW WA Meet / BS Thread

This reminds me that i ordered a set of wet okoles about a month ago that havent arrived yet

 

Did the lower Naches backwards, meaning heading towards the upper Naches.

If peeps are familiar with that trail, the very first hill is really steep, muddy, loose, slick and in a deep trough.
3 tacos and 1 FJ made it to the top; one stock 4runner only made it up 25%.
Once to the top, we headed into the swampy areas and had to take lots of bypasses due to the water levels and mud.

Once clear of that, heading to towards the steep section where there is a root ball that will tag your window/fenders/etc if you decide to challenge it headed down hill.
We were "planning" on going up hill, but due to the rain and mud, we tapped out on that part and selected the bypass.

There was some interesting adventure on Saturday, granted that it was not raining that day, at the section before and after where the Naches Trail wooden sign is:
The section before was about 1' deep mud.
The section after was an S turn with deep ruts on the outer edges. The mud was so slick that at 2mph, the front tires would track at an expected rate but the rear tires would track/slide at an unexpected rate towards the mud rut of doom.

Bummer of the entire trip: bud got stung by a hornet on the bottom of his tongue while drinking AM coffee at the camp site.

Good times had and thank goodness we tapped out and headed back to 410 instead of continuing on wheeling = RAIN

That white one I'm pretty sure is @Greddy he's the only one I know with a white Tacoma, airflow snorkel and tcmbst headlights. Oh and the rtt mounted over the cab is a dead giveaway.

 

Anyone ever had an issue opening their fuel door? I filled up a week ago and had no issue but I just now had to pry it open. How could that happen in a week?

 

Yes. I think it comes on from flexing of the bed and just use in general. I have had to carefully bend mine back out a bit. You will see where it is hanging up at the hinge.

 

some serious mud caked in there? bumped good? a buddy trying to prank you? thats all ive got on that.

Oh well, pry bar and WD40 was a good temp fix the keep it from rubbing

 

Definitely had to bend it back out a touch, it was rubbing on the inside when I finally got it open

 

never would suspect such a simple moving part to give headaches. good to know.

 

just did my underbody kc lights. top center of tire. i went white diffused FWIW to my understanding RCW white and amber are legal for road use. laugh if you like, i think stuff like this is cool. especially in snow. provides extra safety for idiots doing lane changes in tight traffic situations without blinding people.

 

ill be posting more details in the lighting thread as he is a great wrenching buddy of mine. this was all his research. mounting is 70+lb magnets for no drill, relocatable, never fall the hell off.

 

Hell yeah! This is on my winter mod list. I coon hunt outta my truck and the lights would work perfect for looking for tracks. It would be sweet to get them to work with the key fob too that way if you gotta piss in the middle of the night at camp you won’t break your neck.

 

im going to incorporate part of my old system that does have a key fob for remote functions. strobe, pulse, and flash slow.
