Fog Lights On or Off?

there is a reason they are called fog lamps.

 

I use my fog lights at night when the view becomes obscured due to fine particals of water suspended in the lower atmosphere.

 

Its illegal to run fog lights when its not fogy outside.

 

who determines when its "foggy"? does puxatawny phil come out and say "shiyet mane isss foggy" go back to the brush prairie dog

To the people claiming fog lights blind people let me point out as a few other have as well fog lights are mounted low on vehicles they are aimed down not up. If correctly installed and set up there is no possible way fog lights are going to blind on coming cars so please stop the stupidity. Now if people are driving around with off road style lights on all the time then thats different but I am pretty sure that is not what we are talking about

I have mine on when ever the headlights are on and my head lights are usually always on because I forget to turn them off.

True. The ones I have a problem with are the driving lights. Especially the HID driving lights that are on all the time. You aim those for driving lights and you shouldn't have them turned on all the time. They do blind oncoming traffic. Aim them down like fogs and it's no problem.

Just a couple of observations about the fog lights .
I thought mine were not working at first when I tried to run with them
& my ambers only.
Then I figured it out that they only work with the headlights on.
I then figured out that they turn off when you hit the high beams.
I guess someone thought that was really important ?
I would like to have the option to use ALL of my tools when I think I need 'em.

I like the way they look when they're on..F what anyone has to say about that haha.

 

I run my fog's at night and in inclement weather. Rest of the time there off.

 

They are used for inclement weather, for when "fog" is present. i really dislike driving on a normal night and oncoming traffic has their fog lights on cause it's incredibly bright because the way they are made to project light, it's as bad as people who run their high-beams all the time. Of course this is my opinion and most people don't care for others, just themselves.
