The OP bought an Off Road, not a Sport.

They did offer an SR Manual for 2016 and 2017, unfortunately they cancelled it after that.

Just got a Sport myself. Like the ride quality better especially since 95% is on road.

    Congrats.
Study and refer to this when you forget:

I occasionally get into nasty snow. Mud once in a while. If not caught off guard I will put in 4 low, engage rear locker (turn wheel to rt or left all the way and roll a bit to help engage, solid lit icon), also turn MTS on. Next is your friend momentum and as many advise, get the RPMs up if you are in deep doo doo situation. This engine gets the power out best at higher rpms.
Also, might wanna wait to get undercoated as yota has been sending out letters that they will undercoat certain year tacos in heavy road salt states.

Makes plenty sense if you live in one of the Tacoma Mecas (CA, AZ, HI) would see them all the time. Less money from a maintainence standpoint and you still have the rear locker for the occasional trek down hard or rocky dirt road.

Yup... just as capable 99% of the time and comes with all the bells and whistles the OR does, albeit excluding the locker and crawl. You can only use those features in 4L on the OR (which is often not mentioned here) and if you don't use them (probably the vast majority of OR owners) then the features add $0 of value. Why not get the better looking truck?

But alas, I realize this is OR owners forum, with many having already drank from the OR koolaid so my efforts are in vain. I digress, get the one you like the most (and wait for the 2020 model if you can!)

I had a manual Sport and traded it for an automatic OR. I love the truck either way, but the complaints about the 3rd gen transmission are real with an automatic. I had no complaints about the sport at all (other than i felt like i was missing out on the multi-terrain function and crawl control. I live in CO and do most of my driving to and from the hospital. The manual is obviously more fun to drive, and you get a lot more control over the entire car. It also does way better on long distance and higher speed travel. i could throw it in 5th and set the cruise control and it did wonders, whereas the automatic wanders a lot to keep a speed, which is really frustrating. however the manual is easer to take up the mountains. I learned to drive on a stick, and I felt like I could smell my clutch plate when i would crawl with my manual, whereas the automatic does wonders off roading. Both are great trucks, but in my mind the real question should be about the bed length first. and if you are good with a short bed, then consider the transmission next (long bed doesnt come in manual).

LB + MT is why some of us drive a Sport access cab.

I actually kind of liked the old ridgeline model for what it was. They completely ruined it with the new generation, U.G.L.Y!

Nice upgrade (should've went with the sport;))

Update, still waiting for the dealer to “find” my Silver Sky OR on another dealer’s lot. The one I test drive and was prepared to buy this week, turns out had hail damage under the white plastic hood cover ( it arrived in the past week). They noticed that after I left on Saturday. It only took a ten minute google search to find two other Toyota dealers who had the exact truck, color and opinions on their lots, within 20 miles of my dealer.

So, do dealers only have preferred trading partners ? I get the feeling they are going to ask me if I want one of the five Magnetic Gray Metallic ORs on their lot instead on the hail damaged Silver Sky.

A dealer is looking to sell out their stock of vehicles. They don't like making trades unless they make money or absolutely have too. You might have to go in and tell them you found the other trucks and suggest you will move your business there.
