Good job! Not sure what the point of the AC drain line extension is. (Condensate water isn't corrosive.) But it's apparently a popular mod. :notsure:

Is your truck registered as a Commercial Vehicle?

Validation sticker goes on the front for commercial and rear for personal or passenger vehicles. Should be on the sticker instructions as they changed it for passenger trucks in Ontario a few years ago... You no longer get the "Passenger vehicle" sticker for trucks. But you get Black lettered plates.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_Ontario
    https://www.ontario.ca/faq/what-do-i-do-my-licence-plate-sticker-once-i-get-it

But I could be wrong of course.

    Oh, did you notice...
Your plate is a little crooked.... might want to put some bits of pool noodles on it this time... so it floats. :)

Nope, According to Service Waitario, all pick ups get the black text plates :notsure: but hey i don't know

oh is the plate on crooked? Sorry got a kink in my neck so i didn't notice o_O was also thinking of getting one of these instead of the pool noodles, but rig it to detonate if it's under water for longer than 30 seconds

Yep, trucks get black (shows how non-green we are)

    Oh I like that gadget.

Things that detonate... go along with "Hold my beer" .

My first thought seeing that thing was I'd stick one of those in someones pocket and set it off. Lol

Replace the Co2 with pure Sodium or Potassium and it will inflate that bladder when it hits water.

Replace the bladder with a whoopee cushion ...

I wonder how many years ago this was implemented or is it even enforced correctly.

Last year when I was clearing a large oak tree that had fallen across a trail I use all the time. Having fun with my chainsaw. Then OPP truck and 3 officers come to chat.

Officer: Why is your sticker on the back?
Me: I looked at my neighbors cars and thought I had them reserved from the dealership. So I switched them.
Officer: Black plate tags go on the front so if you are towing we can see your tags
    Me: ok

    :notsure:

So I switched it back to how I go it from the dealer, sticker on the front.

I self identify as a hybrid tacoma :D
    https://www.thedrive.com/news/26443/heres-why-the-next-gen-toyota-tundra-and-tacoma-might-go-hybrid
(if the Highlander has a hybrid option, we 3rd gens might see it:annoyed:)

while you're replacing the Co2, you can also replace the air bag with a whoopie cushion or fill it with the same mixture as a fart bomb :burp:

having the sticker on the front since we have a chance to haul stuff around ... well that actually makes sense.
But honestly, why we have them now i'll never know since all the cop needs to do is scan your plate to know just about everything about you. including if you paid for the sticker or not.

This past June I brought my blue plates from my last 1987 4Runner (plated July 2013) to get them installed on my 1986 and save the $20 of a new plate fee.
MTO could not register the blue plates to the ‘86 because first gen 4Runners were re-branded a commercial vehicle somewhere between 2013-2019.

Thats interesting...its really how the 1st gen came to be. At the time of release, North America had no concept of SUV, so they couldnt wrap their head around a 4 door pickup truck. For compliance toyota developed the 1st gen as only a 2 door for NA compliance.

Not sure what happened in 2013 onward that would classify it as a commercial vehicle. That would be the same as designating a Subaru Brat as commercial and that's comical....odd

The 4Runner’s coming to North America is an interesting story, glad they brought them over. Only once have I seen that “filler plate” in person which hid the rear passenger footwell, to get around the taxes.

I really wish I could get my hands (and wallet) on a Trekker.

I’m curious just how many generations of 4Runner are commercial vehicles as per MTO.
    1st (84-89): black plate
    2nd (90-95): ?
    3rd (96-02): ?
    4th (03-08): ?
5th (09-present): blue plate...I drool over one I walk past almost daily.

Should Google and find the source link for the 1st gen entry positioning. I actually heard it first from Shane in Orangeville back when I got mine.

I plated my 99 3rd gen 3 yrs ago and have blue plates

    You wouldn't make a good gov't bureaucrat. :p

Reading the California threads, pickups must be plated as commercial vehicles there too (with a much higher fee that scales with GVWR, because Commiefornia charges for gravity). However, if you put a cap on the bed, you can then get normal passenger car plate.

Actually i think you stopped reading aboot the CA plating...IIRC a cap AND a toilet are required before it is not commercial
