    Shout-out to @chagovatoloco for bringing this upgrade to life.... Suzuki Grand Vitara alternator rated at 105 amps vs. the 60 amp factory alt. Completely bolt-in upgrade after you easily drill out the threaded hole that mounts to the tensioner. Not to mention, this alternator is way quieter than the old one... I imagine with 145k+ miles on it, the bearings along with the windings were starting to wear out.

    Parts store alternator is not showing 105 it’s the denso that’s 105 rest show lower

    Hmm, weird. I just got the exact part number he posted from rockauto. It also confirms that it is 105 amps on the alternator itself. Plus, I like Denso stuff

    Weird, I couldn't find it on Rockauto. They had the ones with 80-70 amps. I ended up finding the 105amp Denso on Summit for $92, $30 of which I could get back if I sent in a core, but I doubt I will. By the time I pay for shipping it to them if it hasn't already cost me more than the core return, then I will have burned the rest in gas. I did get suckered into getting something else I've wanted for a long time...an AirRaid induction tube that goes between the MAF sensor and the throttle body. Figure it'll add 50 HP and about a 100 Ft/lbs of axle popping torque, lol.

    Curious why you didn’t go with the Cadillac alternator. It’s rated for 160amps and is basically bolt on minus getting a small wiring harness. Could be for only V6s tho

    Nobody I know likes wiring. If it can be avoided it will be, haha. This is pretty much a plug'n'play mod.

    This was actually the original plan and I even have the wiring adapter, but in reality I don't see myself needing that much charging power. I'm only running a single battery with a winch and a few LED lights that never get turned on so I think this will be plenty for my needs

    Platform to strap shit to since my spare is a permanent piece. Expanded metal is inherently loud when it gets banged around so I am nervous about how much noise it may make while off-road. If it's loud, I'm cutting it off and it's going into the trash

    I dig the idea. :thumbsup: I wouldn't have used expanded metal though. That shit always rusts and sags between the frames...and of coarse the stuff under it gets rust stained.
