I need to get out again once my new tires show up. My truck is too big now for much fun (Ram 2500) but the 750GS is just about perfect.

Lol yeah I know it’s pushing it. I’ve just hated that I haven’t been able to go back this year and last year, it’s killing me haha
I hope it holds off :fingerscrossed:

Took my 16 year old daughter up to Georgia pass via 285 and Jefferson, CO. Did some leaf peepin'

Took trail 258 off Georgia Pass like I did two years ago in search of SOB Hill. Took the left turn I highlighted in my "Upcoming Colorado Events" post.
Occasionally, the rocky trail travelled with a shallow icy stream. There where a few short water crossings.
The tree lined trail presented larger rock obstacles, and a steep incline around a narrower sharp turn. Could this be the SOB Hill I've been reading about?
Nope! Wrongway Winkle found the same dead end he found two years ago! Arrrrrgh!
We turned around, went back to Georgia Pass and took 355 down to Tiger Road toward Frisco.

There was one fork in the trail where I got out and walked the right path a few hundred yards but it looked like it just curved around to the left path. We turned left. Maybe the fork is Waypoint 6 in TrailsOffroad.com's description and we should have turned right. I'll have to try again. Maybe start from Frisco side instead of Jefferson Side next time like @Squeaky Penguin suggested.

Maybe use GPS, offline maps, and a gpx file of the trail systems in that area next time?

Could have sworn there was a thread in here on this topic, but I didn't look very long. EDIT: Found it: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/offroad-navigation-discussion-thread.430144/

All I can offer is what I use: Backcountry Navigator Pro, USFS maps, and waypoint/track files from TrailsOffroad (or TrailDamage, if needed).

A few pictures from running Red Cone with @CGoss yesterday. Still some decent colors out in Webster Pass, Red Cone and Guanella Pass!
