Missed the PreRunner aspect. With no front diff or axles you shouldn’t need the 886 spring rate. I back the 887 idea

A spacer goes in between the top of the coil spring & the coil bucket. It's not moving the entire shock down, you're just pre-loading the spring from the top instead of the bottom for lift.

Maybe my terminology is incorrect, but i am referring to a spacer that sits on top of the strut housing and below the strut mounting point on the frame, rather than inside of the strut between the top of the coil spring and the coil bucket. These guys. Looks to be called a "top plate spacer".

I may still be incorrect in the statement that these wont affect ride quality, however if my thoughts are right, this type of spacer should just move the entire assembly down, hence lifting the truck without affecting the preload of the spring...

You've got it right! But, it's still between the coil spring and the shock mounting point. It's placed between the top of the coil hat and the part of the truck that the top of your shock mounts to, which is squishing the spring smaller within the same space, and pre-loading it. The same amount of shock shaft is still sticking up above the shock mount, otherwise you wouldn't have anything to thread on. It's doing the same things Kings/Icon/Fox shocks are doing when you torque down the threads to pre-load. It's going to make the spring and ride stiffer and limit your down-travel ever so slightly. A 1/4" spacer probably wouldn't make the ride noticeably harsher, though. I've got a 3/8" spacer on my driver's side for the lean and I don't notice any extreme differences between my driver's and passenger's ride comfort.

Nice thanks! I've been reading a few threads and I feel more comfortable and confident on 887
Also @Gilmorec61 are those the spacers you ordered or was that just a pic for reference?

Those are what I would order but I’m just going to take some measurements and blast a couple out on the waterjet

If you pull the pics at the bottom of the bed extender it comes off only leaving the brackets on the tailgate.
