If I was camping a lot, I’d consider that but you need sunshine, too.

Very true. Which is why I go to places where the sun is likely to shine :)

What multi port cord charger are you using? I have a yeti 1000 lithium and i was wondering if I could charge it using the outlet in the bed while driving.

Any extension cord style multi-outlet will do. I just use this with a really long extension cord because it give me flexibility with my Goal Zero, fridge, and flexible solar panel in tight campsites: https://www.amazon.com/Woods-2801-E...9629&sprefix=retractable+cord,aps,184&sr=8-15 .

It sits right next to the outlet all the time whether I am travelling or not.

And no issues with charging it all the outlet in the bed? GZ has a 12V car charger it is constantly sold out.

Two months on the road. Eighteen national parks. Fourteen states. 109 degrees to 32 degrees. 13K elevation to sea level. Rain forest to deserts. Parking lots to river crossings and really rough trails. No problems.

Excellent news! Thanks for the clarification. My wife and I are going to explore Ocala national forest in November and I have been considering getting a fridge and ditching the cooler.

Just did this, worked great... also if you are slightly colour blind.. or just can't tell the difference between pink and red, it is a pain in the butt to get the cable clip under the shift assembly to come out, on the plus side that shift assembly comes out pretty easy then you can solder your red wire back together :)

SOS Front bumper with winch, Dual battery, RCI bed rack, Smitty built XL, 8112's in front, King 2.5 adj in back, Armor on the way.
This is what I'm going to embark on next as far as power goes... It should have come with at least USB's in the back seat...I'm also running them to the bed. The dual battery set up is getting put to work this year.

Just did the installation, great instructions guys! One question: with the key on accessory when I turn on the power from the inverter I get 121 volts but when I start it I’m getting 111 volts, is that normal??

Any issues from running 400w while driving, right? I see OP owns a dodge now...

No problems running with it on.
Drove all night/ AC on / fog light / kids running chargers and laptops 10 hour/ everything charged and didn’t overheat.
One of the better mods to do.

    Nice video.

Not a fan of looping electrical tape around wire ends to insulate them. When electrical tape gets warm it doesn't stick so well and can come off the ends of the wire. I would either use a dab of liquid electrical tape or crimp on a butt splice.

I had hell trying to reach the grounding spot in the pic. I ended up using a different part of the parking brake and it is a moving part, so I'm a little worried about it wiggling free or breaking the wire. Any tips on reaching that rear mounting bolt?

Thanks for the info on this thread. I'm going to try the inverter option to charge the house battery for my first trip. Not ready to do the DC-DC set up yet so this info is very helpful. Does anyone know if the stock inverter is a pure sine wave inverter or a modified sine wave inverter? The AGM NOCO I'm using will need a pure sine wave inverter.
