Me too. MT in the Tacoma has TRAC. TRAC or TRACS for Volvo and WRX, both were MT. TRAC/TRACS simply, automatically and quite well uses ABS to grab the spinning wheel. I got up some very slippery road hills FWD only with TRACS.

So, i want to clear it up a bit, If i will buy 33 and it would best with same gear, 4.88 or 5.29? Because only my concern is i wonder how will it affect on towing. I usually towing often with my truck. But i would love to have saving some fuel. Whats your opinions?

I have 33s and have 5.29. If you tow those are IMO the right gears for you

So us MT guys have stability and traction control, I think there're both federally mandated. When you get in the nasty stuff I've had both of these "aids" cause my hackles to rise. Overall they're good but definitely not perfect

It is in the end depending on your own use and what kind of muck terrain you drive in. I agree NO system is infallible. It is man made after all. So back up plans are good. I mean even if I get a front locker, I still will have TRAC and so on.

Finally read the whole thread... took me a couple of weeks.

Also, went to an offroad shop that has done work for me in the past (RJ Chasis Dynamics) in Salem. They also recommend 5.29 Nitros.

They quoted me ~$2200 for gears (they order) and installation front and rear. If I buy everything ~$1050 installation only.

Asked about cost for installation of an ARB air locker in the rear. No extra for labor as they’re in there already. Sweet!

I have a VIAIR heavy duty OBA I wanted to use from a previous project to actuate the locker and air up tires. But I might just buy the smallest ARB compressor solely for the lockers (plan to do front later as well) and have two separate air systems.

So do lockers, gears, compressors ever go on sale Black Friday/Cyber Monday? If so, I might just wait a month to have them do it. Not in a big hurry but I can definitely feel the 35’s under me

Very competitive price on the gears and labor.

As far as deals, I think I see them run for about 10% of holiday sales. I got my gear set for about 10% off.

We run group buys a lot for the ARBs. There’s one usually always going on.

My labor cost was $1,500 for installing the gears, both ARB diffs, and running the air lines, but no compressor though. Who are you using? I had my done in the west Seattle area but live in southern OR. My installer wouldn't install any supplied parts, but was competitive on price though ($940 for each ARB locker).

What stock gearing and what size differentials does my 2019 MT Sport have???? Can I even go 5.29??

    It's been a long day!

I dunno. I don't think that is correct for Sport
