My OEM 2.5" full lift just arrived and I am stoked. I am installing it on a 2000 extra cab SR5. I have the stock steel 15" wheels (which I have spray-bombed flat black) that I plan on using.

My question is what is the max tire size I should run on the stock steel wheels? I am hoping to run 32" or 33" tires, but the width is my issue.

Any help on suggestions of sizes and recommended tires would be great.

i just got some 32x11.5 and the smallest width rim you can use on them is an 8 inch. if your wheels are stock they are probably 7 inch width, thats what my stock alloys were. i had 31x10.5 on my stock wheels, but thats the factory size tire im told.

stock tire is 31x9.50 i believe.

you can get 33x9.50 r15's and they should fit just fin on those rims. you will likely have some rubbing though

3" lift Up front(Donahoe Racing ext. travel coil overs, Camburg UCA's), 1.5-2" lift in the back(aal and some billy 10" stroke short bodies), Bushwhacker Cut-Out fender flairs, 16"x10" Procomp Street locks, and 305/70 Procomp X-Terrains.
I would not go any taller than 32" tire, with a 2.5" suspension lift. The recomended rim width is different for each tire. I have seen 33" and 32" x11.5" R15 tires that could fit a 7"-10" wide rim. I do not know if the tire will hit the spindle where it mounts to the uca when you are running 11.5" wide tires when your are using your stock rims.

Go with the 32x11.50's. I believe the Double cab thread in the first gen section has pix of a few trucks with the stock 15x7 alloys and 32x11.50's. Try look it up or do a search for that tire size.

    Thanks for the input.

I am considering some 33 10.50 BFG (narrow to avoid any spindle issue). My brother runs similar size 'pizza cutters' Cooper ST on his 2001 (3'lift) with no issues.

I have 2000 4x4 sr5 with 3" lift and bfg 33x10.5 on stock wheels. check out my build page:

Its a pizza cutter look , but thats better imo. You get better gas mileage and torque (due to less rubber) and still get the clearance associated with larger tires. I did the pinch weld mod to gain a little extra clearance, but thats a 5 min job.
