New here, hope someone can help me with confirming the maximum size pizza cutters for my 2020 trd sport double cab long bed. I have been reading several threads for quite a while but am rather confused as it doesn't seem clear if others are lifted when discussing sizes.
This is for snow tires for better traction and I like the old school look.
Factory setup, no lift installed. Will get a size 16 or 17 wheel , probably steel . What is the maximum recommended size without rubbing in a narrow tire.

    Thanks

It took you longer to write out this unhelpful response, rather than just answer the question. Well done.

    Thanks for the quick responses.
FYI I did spend a couple hours reading about this topic before posting but the threads go on for ever.
I was thinking i could only go 255/70 in r17 or 235/85/r16 so this answer helps me greatly

Idk the answer. There are a million threads on the topic.
    You’re just enabling.
People should do a little research. If not the next thread will be
“Some yahoo on TW told me X size tires would fit and now I’m rubbing”

Enabling? Enabling what, being helpful? OP asked a question and I answered it. If you don’t know it and don’t want to provide helpful input, simply don’t reply and move on with your day. It’s really not that hard. You’re the one “enabling” an atmosphere of assholes I see more and more of on here.

Edit: that was a little harsh and I apologize. Message of what I was trying to get across is provide some helpful input, or just move along and don’t post anything. It’s not difficult to not be rude.

I’m happy to help. The size is contingent on running stock wheels and no spacers. Push the wheel further out, you will most likely rub.

Guys not trying to cause a big deal here but I went back and looked at a couple of the old threads that i was reading over the last few days. There was mention in some of those threads that 255/80/17 and 255/85/16 would rub if not lifted . That was why I am rather confused.
Seems that 235/85/16 is a no brainer so may just go with that.
Maybe when pushing the limits , the model or rim selection causes issues in some cases.

This totally depends on what wheels you’re going to be running.

It seems the off road is more tolerant of 255/85/16 than the sport... fwiw.

I have asked questions before after reading many threads and still was confused. I’m glad someone answered your direct question OP.

Just to clear things up. There is no difference in wheel well dimensions across sport and off-road so the 255s should fit exactly the same on both trucks, assuming all other variables are the same.

I wish people on TW would take this strategy. Help or move on. The elitest attitude around here is a huge turnoff to people. Thankfully I stuck with it and figured out this community, otherwise I'd be stuck on r/toyotatacoma on reddit... not that that is a bad thing, but it's like comparing a kindergarten to Harvard, as far as the collective knowledge is concerned.

Keep up the helpful attitude, @EatSleepTacos !

Could be true here. I recall being schooled by someone online here that the Off Road wheel size and backspacing made it a bit of a different animal allowing for a bit more interior clearance; ie control arms. YMMV of course and I have no experience other than what others have posted here.

Sport wheels are 17x7.5 with 30mm offset. Offroad wheels and 16x7 with 25mm offset..
