Wow!, what an adventure these trucks are to get them a few more inches higher. What ever happened to the simple 80's and 90's toyota trucks that i have lifted so many times before with no problems? Ok now this has been a rollercoaster ride for me and have never depended on such loyal tacoma owners but that on TW. thanks.

Now back to bitching, I installed my lift,UCAs, and when I finally got around to putting my 285 Duratracs on is when I've been the most stressed out!

First off the alignment was a pain to geet just right and when I thought that it was finally figured out this happens. I'm cruising in my newly lifted badass tacoma when I take a tight turn and suddenly the truck starts beeping don't know what was beeping because I was trying to keep the truck on the road and couldn't look down. It felt like I lost steering and couldn't cut it right. Now I have a few ideas on what could have happened but I would realy like to hear someone else's opinion and if there is any similar experiences, thanks

Hey man where did you get that thing aligned at, I personally take my truck to Nello Tire.Right off the Mt. Rose exit they do great work and have great customer service. As for the beeping that is strange I've never heard anything like that hope you get it figured out.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
You need to recalibrate your VSC (or whatever it's called)

Beeping could have been because you were sliding.

You can disable VSC at vehicle startup by pressing AND HOLDING the VSC disable button on the dash (car on skiddy tires icon) for about 5 seconds until the "car on skiddie tires" light on the dash goes on, but the "Auto LSD" light goes off, as long as you do it while the vehicle is still stopped.

So far, no one on the boards has proposed a permanent VSC disable mechanism. (Actually there is one - having to do with cutting ONE wire coming from the yaw sensor - but I'm not sure whether that would also cause a check engine fault...)

It seems like it would be pretty easy to build a "Time Delay Relay" switch that would replace the existing "VSC Disable" switch and would ALWAYS disable VSC as soon as the engine starts up.

That would be a plug-in fix not requiring any factory wire cutting - so reverting back to stock would be easy in case the lift was ever reversed, the vehicle was sold, toyota released a VSC software patch that made the gremlins in lifted vehicles go away, etc....

Ok I have an appointment on wednesday with the dealer and lI will inform them to recalibrate the VSC. They are cool in there but are completely clueless when I come in with requests that I've read on TW haha. One time I even asked them to use their computer in the shop to look up answers ha

agreed on the fact that they are totally clueless when you go in there and seem to know more about your truck than they do. Thank you TW, I deal with Toyota of York also.So 85 did you have a tenative date in mind for the meet and greet?.I am jealous of all the So Cal meets they have out there.

No date for sure but I have a few in mind....oh and we'll never have a meet that comes near what out west has. I dont know if you are back in town but I did see a Blue taco near market st. in york today. The guy practically fell out his window waving at me and I pretty much did the same. For those who thinks this is nuts try being in Jeep territory with a tacoma
