My suspicion is either gas cap, or maybe a sensor or wire was knocked loose during the oil change.

Could by handy for you in the future. You can get a ODBII bluetooth adapter on Amazon and then install Torque or something like that on your phone to quickly pull your codes.

I also use it to monitor air intake temp, trans temp, coolant temp, and then it has a speedometer calibrated for oversized tires.

Ours just did this- Check Engine light and Trac light.

Check engine light came on a couple weeks ago and then went off- I figured it was the gas cap. Today when she left work while the truck was still cold she stepped on it and it died down and went into limp mode. She pulled to the side of the road and then slowly made it to a parking lot. I went and looked for anything obvious but did not see anything- also tried to loosen and retighten the gas cap. I jumped in the truck and it started normal and drove normal but the check engine light and trac off light are still on. Truck is a 2012 Access, off road, has 82,000 kilometres- 51,163 miles.

Came out after work: Gas cap was loose, and that’s the code that popped up. Cap tightened up properly. Should go away in 24hrs? If not, I’ll need to get it reset?

If that was it, it'll go away in a few drive cycles.

Hoping that’s the case. Just filled up and they’re still on.

Stop by if you have time and I can use my OBD-II C-Reader to clear it. Or stop by Oreilly’s or Auto Zone and they can read/clear it for free.

Rig seems to be running fine, so if it’s not gone by Friday, I could drop by after work if you’re around.

Always enjoy shootin’ the shit with ya anyhow.

which BT OBDII did you go with? I have one from a buddy but as it turns out its the android specific version not for use with iphone (for this brand) so I gotta pick up a different one. Does yours allow you to clear codes as well?

ive had this one for quite some time. Always worked well. Works fine on iphone and android (i mostly use android though). Just have to check the cheaper ones to see if they work with everything (ABS is a common one cheaper ones dont work for). im sure there are cheaper ones thatll do everything this one will....it was a prime day sale or something so got it a lot cheaper

I just use it with the bluedriver app. But I am just using it as a "scan tool" than just a live data tool (ie Torque app) hence needing things like access to ABS codes.

Ill end up picking up a more basic one eventually. Tired of hooking up the ultragauge when Im towing or just wanting to see live data. No longer worried about iphone support so cheaper is fine :)
