OME Rear Leaf Spring Question

Sup,
So I got my OME rear leaf springs in, but rear bushings were not included, apparently. So my question is, are polyurethane bushings from autozone just as good as OME ones? And, is it a good idea to get new leaf spring bolts instead of reusing the originals?

I have skipped doing the top bushing on the shackle before and leaving the factory rubber one there, so its not all poly.
Do the final tightening at ride height on that bushing since its rubber you don't want to twist it apart.
the bottom bushing should already be on the leaf spring and poly, same with the front poly bushing.

Usually people get the shackle kit and extra bushings, but if you are reusing the factory shackle it's not required unless you just want all poly.

If you didn't have to sawzall the original bolts off and they aren't super rusty, clean them up and grease them and put them back in. I had to cut through the passenger one when I did mine so I have a replacement bolt and locking nut on that side that I got from ACE. their longest bolt was just barely long enough.

4. Optional, order greasable shackles and the appropriate OME rear bushings for said shackles

The reason for replacing the main bushing is because that's where 95% of your noise comes from. Using a quality grease in all the right places makes all the difference as poly bushings squeak and squeal like a pig if they're dry.

I hope you don't have stock shocks with your OME Dakar's, and I also hope you have taller bump stops to protect said shocks.

 

can you considered the icon expansion pack? i heard good things about adding those in the rear

 

I went with all new hardware. Springs, shackles, poly bushings, bolts and U-bolt flip. Pulled out the old put in new. Didn’t worry about rehabilitation of old HW.

 

That's an add-a-leaf option.

The OP replaced his entire leaf pack; not sure why you would suggest such an option since the OP mentioned nothing about a heavier payload, etc.

 

so the icon expansion pack can be configured in 3 different setups, one for heavy, mid, and just a replacement. i have a pair in my garage i will be adding to my 2003 5 lug. i had bought them for my 2019 but they would fit 1st gen tacomas as well.
