Methinks this summer has been very much below normal in my location, but i am not the weather scientist!
I have not had to fight with the A/C to find its equilibrium, relatively less humid than normal also
sort of feels like we are going into a cooling phase around here much like in the 1970s scare of global cooling lol

oh i understand its a complicated issue with much much more research to be done!
there was a point in history i have heard from science discovery that indicated the planet was much warmer than now,

i remember the spring/summer of 1998 was nasty hot and humid which is normal coming out of an ice age

but i will go and plant a tree and some nice flowers to recycle my share of CO2 that I exhale every day, i will do my part

 

Hopping on this thread as I have a 96 and just moved to Minnesota. Does anyone know of a place that will apply Fluid Film? I just want to make sure that the first application is done thoroughly. I'm happy to do touch-ups and reapplications myself. Looked everywhere and can't find anything closer than Chicago. Thanks!

It's easy to do yourself. Get the 360 nozel attachment and put some cardboard down (leaks onto the driveway) and go to town. Keeps my 98 in great shape through our salted road winters where I live.

 

it may or may not be easy, i had a difficult time out on the cold pavement touching up a spot of depleted undercoating under the cab last evening, that FF can did not want to spray straight up at it and kept dribbling down on my cheeks
i suppose its just as bitter cold where you're at in SD and MN, how do you apply FF when the temps are below freezing, i was trying to read the instructions and could not see anything regarding proper temps for application

Thanks. Ended up just buying some cans (sadly no 360 nozzle) and went to town. Seemed to go on fine. Only thing I'm worried about is inside the frame as I doubt my coverage was 100% without the 360 nozzle. I actually found Fluid Film hard to find around town and definitely didn't see any of the spray on equipment, only the cans. Only place that seemed to carry it was O'Reilly's and Advanced Auto Parts, and stores only carried 1-2 cans. Had to go to multiple stores to get enough (used 6-7 cans). My advice for everyone is to plan ahead and buy it online.

 

Easy. I do it before the cold hits. FF dries into a waxy type substance. I believe the can says to apply in a certain temperature. I would assume adhering to some cold metal wouldn't stick as easy as warmer metal.

 

Amazon. You can get a kit of 3 cans with the attachment. Once you get the attachment which let's you penetrate deep into the frame rails you can go to Walmart and get some more. My local wal marts carry the stuff and it's dirt cheap. Lots of ranchers in my area so I would assume it sells well. I remember my grandfather applying similar stuff to tractors and such to help keep rust off the equipment. Or stop it at least.

 

i have plenty of xtra 360 nozzles but no current plans to cross IA or SD to MN in the near future
the 4 spray cans of internal frame coating i bot each had their own little 360 nozzle that is probably best to wrap around a long wire (metal clothes hanger?) to keep it straight

 

its supposed to be warmish in November, 40s or 50s! not these well below freezing arctic temps

there's a very nice glaze of salty garbage left on the roads here from yesterday and cannot get my truck to undercoater yet and get a plan together

i bet my truck picked up some kinda virus in February 2oo6 in Rapid City unless the chemicals were not used at that time?
made a nice little winter road trip to there then

 

It is oddly winter time feeling a little too soon. I agree. I always make sure to get the undercarriage clean and dry as possible. There should be some days available yet (you'd hope) to get that done. If you could use a shop and just lay some cardboard below that would be ideal for the application.

If you drove through in February you very well might have contacted a Taco virus. They mag-water the shit out of the roads around here. It's terrible. They do have mag-water remover at some car washes though. That helps. Lots of idiot drivers so I assume it helps in the collision department.

 

Many people commonly confuse weather for climate, so you have lots of company in that regard. The sad thing about “alternate facts” is they aren’t facts, but fantasies.

we are still in an Ice Age so global warming is a natural occurrence in the overall pattern i would think
