maint. req. Light

    the maintenance required light fist would blink 5 times when i started it.. that was a couple days ago and now it comes on and stays on. im gonna take it in this weekend but was wondering if anyone had any ideas whats up? If im completely honest ill have to say that the light didnt come on until one day on the way home from work i was hauling but and hit the speed limiter like 3-4 times in a row. :facepalm:yeah i know, im a dumb-ass.

    oil change time. comes on every 4,500 miles. stays on at 5k miles.

    check your owners manual for details, but first change your oil, then you reset it using the odometer button while your car is on but engine is off. use the search feature on this site for more details on it.

    with the key off, hold the odometer reset button and turn the key on. you will see dashes flashing instead of the mileage. continue holding the button until all the dashes go away and the mileage comes back. im pretty sure the odometer has to be set to the mileage before you turn the key off but some toyotas must be set to trip a.
