OFFICIAL XB LED HEADLIGHTS THREAD 16+

OK sure, the Morimoto's are closer in readings to the Philips bulbs, but these housings come with a whole lot more than just brighter light so if someone has the hard working cash, then it's a no brainer to get these over just upgrading halogen bulbs. The drl's are bigger and brighter than oem as well as the turn signals and every Tacoma should have black housings rather than that chrome crap so that is worth the money right there.

 

Just swinging by to see if this has cleared up or is still a cluster fuck...

Anyone have these on a Canadian model with the "DRL" setting? Plug and play for sequential turns or do you need to do a fuse tap?

 

The housings dont come with brighter lights, the high beams are dimmer than stock, the bulbs are not replaceable. $20 phillips bulbs vs $1300 for equal lows and worse highs... thats a no brainer to you? Your money is toing to be much better spent on a retrofit rx350 bi-xenon HID with bhlm customed however you want. Thats the "no brainer" if your itching to drop $1300 on headlights.

Lol. I’m all about performance too, trust me.
I don’t think people are in denial, just misinformed. Thinking that just by swapping to an LED it will instantly yield better results over a halogen. Not saying that is true or false. But there are a lot more PROS for this headlight VS the CONS. I think having a super good low beam is the ticket. High beam.. not as critical(to me). Most guys have aux light bars/pods nowadays so that can be tapped off high beam activation for the best output IMO.

If doing a retrofit with rx350's and black out was in that price point, then i be all over it. I would have to spend money to get housings to ship off to someone to do the work, plus all the parts and labor needed to make the new setup. That would cost me more than the $1,000 I spent on these. I wanted the rx350 setup, but I have been told it would cost 2 g's or more to have this kind of setup so for the money I paid, these are excellent headlights.

 

I’ve been away from this thread a good bit, did anyone figure out how to get the DRL to stay orange? I didn’t see any answers but may have missed it as it’s been awhile. Looking to get this done Friday

 

They updated saying the the amber cant be used as drl

Agreed! I personally had RX350 retrofit when I had my Tundra. Although the new XB line-up are amazing, I wouldnt trade up if I have an RX350 setup. I can't see Sh** at night so i prefer the brighter setup. Not to say that these arent bright. The XB are alot more brighter than most OEM LED setups out there not to mention the insanely creative design and uniqueness. I drove quiet a few cars with OEM LED setups and wasn't impressed. The XB line up is far ahead of most (non-luxury) OEM manufacturers when it comes to LED headlights.

Not badly priced for rx 350, but I prefer the overall look to the Morimoto's than oem drl and single projector. Plus I don't have factory headlights so it would cost me even more since I don't have anything to send to him.
