So far I'm not finding any replacement sensors either. There's about any other kind of sensor replacement on the truck available but I'm striking out on this one.

I have the Auto Headlamp feature on mine. It is nice, but the headlamps auto mode is only to turn them on and off based on ambient light. If you turn your headlamps on and turn off the truck, you headlamps will turn off based on how you have the shut off feature set. Either time delayed or with the door opening.

Yes, you are correct. But in auto mode the headlights never go on as of this week.

I understand that. I was just mentioning that for fear of a dead battery. The lights shutoff regardless of auto or on setting.

I would go through the head unit and adjust them to the most sensitive setting, then cover and uncover the sensor and see if they come on. That's about as much troubleshooting as you need before either a) heading to the dealership b) start digging for wiring diagrams..

I've actually already done that. Trying not to have to got he dealership route since it's just out of warranty by about 2 weeks. Go figure! So now I'm trying to figure out where I can buy a new sensor and see if that's the issue. so far my searching isn't bring up anything worthwhile. It's all sensors for every other part of the truck.

Since its so soon out of warranty and headlights are a safety feature, maybe the dealer will do a "goodwill" repair for you and cover it for free or at a reduced rate, sorry this has happened to you.

Funnily enough, I read that thread and somehow missed that. Thanks.
Thanks a lot. Could be worse. I'm going to see if I can fix it first. If it's just a sensor it should be a fairly easy fix.

I was just looking for info on this. If you have Techstream, you can look for trouble codes. If the sensor has failed or there is a harness issue, the code would be B1244.

Basically outside of what you have done now you would need Techstream and a usb adapter.

If you are comfortable working on your own vehicle and since you are out of warranty, this might be good to have for future issues.

Quicksand with hood protector, color matching decals on tailgate latch, mudflaps, glovebox, and tailgate hitch cover.
THe automatic headlight dimmers or automatic headlight turnoff features are something I do not use. I do not even have auto dimmer turned on. I think there are just some things that I can still do myself, such as dimming my headlights if need be, as well, as turning off my headlights when I get to where I am going. And yes, I am one of only two people in my neighborhood who actually still cut their own grass, instead of hiring someone to do it.

I don't suppose anyone knows if there's a fuse that corresponds to the sensor? Of course I'd imagine the lights wouldn't work at all if it were a fuse issue.
