Hey Casper, the way the tent is mounted it's at the hinge point so when/if you open the trailer the ladder of the tent functions as the brace point. We have all our crap in the four big Costco tubs so we've never really had to open the trailer. Here's a shot of the tailgate, I mounted a Jeep (heresy) table to that.

Oh that table is handy. From what I have heard those are really well built trailers. Oh that could be a fun project. Build a trailer but then see if i could sell it. Knowing me I would loose my ass on it

We got a hell of a deal on it at Overland in Flagstaff and have had no regrets. On losing my ass it's the story of my life....

I understand what you are describing about raising the cover with the tent deployed. So that part is functional and allows access to the inside of the trailer. How heavy is it to raise the lid with the rack and tent on it?

I believe they are 200-250# lifts so it's not real tough to lift. In fact, without the tent I had a hell of time getting them closed!

I mean I'm talking about buying one as a project with the sole intent of selling it not using it. But, yes I tend to pretty much give stuff away I almost never mke money on anything

Schew that's heavy. Now I understand the tote idea more than accessing through the top. I was thinking 2 pull out drawers in the lower section of the trailer with one a camp kitchen then storage on top of it under the lid. Kinda something that would have to be played with to figure out I guess

I just enjoy fun creative projects. I really need to build a seperate shop. About all I need right now is a metal break, tubing bender, and a press.

I was looking at the pullout drawer but with the width of the tailgate it would have really limited it's use, thus the totes. Checkout jberrys dingleberry, he's got some good ideas with pullouts and general build.

Oh I'm telling ya I have as much or more fun with the camper as I do the truck. Now you have me thinking about the projects I have been considering for mine, boxing sections of the frame, a brush guard for the AC, and eventually converting to a Timbren suspension

The tailgate came "plain jane" with the trailer and I ordered the Jeep tailgate table and adapted it to the trailer. I used plexiglass to make the mounting adapters, and it's held up well.
