If the fronts already have the springs mounted on the shocks its not too terrible. When I did mine, my buddy and I learned a lot doing the first side, and the second side took us a lot less time. I almost found the rears to be more of a pain than the fronts. I would suggest a very strong screwdriver or a slim pry bar to get the rears in the correct position to run the bolt through.

THank you for the info! Much appreciated. The install went well. I also put on UCAs and I think it went well.

HOWEVER, I have had an intermittent grinding noise ever since install. It's present even after my alignment.

I think it has something to do with the 4wd. Because driving in 4 wheel I don't hear the noise, but when I disengage (there is a clear click) but I still here the rubbing between 15-50 mph.

Anyone ever heard of such a thing?

Could it be the spacers at the diff?

FULL DISCLOSURE: I was in a car accident (hit on front driver side) and so I might take it in to get looked at as a result of the collision, but I don't want to have to take my lift back out to hide it from the shop and pay for another alignment, just to get it fixed and then put the lift back in...

I would love to know if anyone has had this problem before...

I'm not an expert at all, so this is a best guess, but did you do the ECGS Clamshell bushing when you did the front lift? You might be hearing the stock needle bearing not enjoying the new lift if not.

Obvi haven't replaced it yet but I watched this video ( https://youtu.be/cVMuu5qJqVM ) and they identify the noise/my troubleshooting right in the intro.

So, THANK YOU!!! and hopefully this helps others out!

If you need to borrow the Puller tool that ECGS sells, I have one handy to lend out if you're at all close to the South Minneapolis/Mendota Heights areas. I'll just need it back for my install in a few weeks when I decide on which leaf springs mods to go with.

I am in St. Paul, would definetly swing by! (I'm out next week for vacation, but if we can work around one another's schedules that'd be great!!!)

Thank you for the news and in advance for the puller!

The Gander in Eden Prairie is closing up shop, again, and dumping their inventory, again, and I met the president, again.

They are running 50% off everything less guns/ammo/electronics/some other shit. Unlike the old Gander they are selling some really nice camping gear. Just got an Osprey Atmos AG 65 for $135.

I saw North Face, Patagonia, mamut, Merrel, and a bunch of other “REI brands”.

Ended up walking out spending $379 :D

Figured I’d let you all know.

Anyone up for an End-of-the-Year ride? Dec. 7 at Spider Lake, MN? This is assuming it doesn't snow and they close it for snowmobiles...but let me know if you're interested.

I used to work for Gander Mtn at the Lakeville location. When I worked there (4ish years ago) it was the number one store in the company. What an absolute crap place to work. The inventory/back rooms was an absolute mess, the buyers were people who knew absolutely nothing about the departments they were buying for, management was an absolute joke...ect. We never got things in stock that people were actually looking for. They turned into a glorified clothing store that sold a bit of fishing/hunting gear. We were also pushed to sell credit cards and protection plans and I absolutely hated it.

I hated buying things there. Although my gander branded blaze bib/3-pc jacket set for deer season is bloody amazing.

I went in one day to talk to the manager about teaching/working part time on their new laser weapons training system. Felt I was a pretty good candidate since I was an advanced marksmanship instructor and certified admin/maintainer for the FATS and Weaponeer systems we had on post. While I know the systems were not identical, I know enough to keep things moving and can learn a new like-minded system. He walked me over to the bro’d out operator lead guy they had, and the dude was sigh inducing to say the least. I wasn’t a good fit. I then went to that mom/pop gun shop across 35 from them. Listening to those dudes talk made me shake my head so I left. I had just got out of service, and it was then I realized I was just a profit in unholy lands.

Would go into gander lakeville from time to time on my way to the range to get ammo, and stopped after they switched up the sales floor model to that “wonder around lost till you stumble on what you are looking for” they switched to. God that was terrible.

Gander was doomed to fail in my opinion. Could never figure out if they were a Cabellas, REI, or ghetto ass Sportsmansguide. Never quite found their niche.

Meh, just feel bad for the folks that will be out of work.

If you're talking about the mom/pop gunshop across the street from the Lakeville gander, they are terrible. You won't get anyone to talk to you unless you are waving around a fist full of hundreds as you walk through the door. I have no clue how they are still open after all of these years.

Just picked up a 96 Tacoma last week and looking forward to making some modifications.
Any recommendations on shops? I want new shocks and a bumper I can put lights and a winch on.
I’m in Minneapolis. Always looking to hang with some new people and hit some trails.
