    Hey y'all,

Just wanted to officially introduce myself here. This is my first personally owned truck, although I've driven plenty of ambulances. I'm wanting to do all the maintenance myself, or at least most of it to save money, but I think I'm in a bit over my head. I have created a "build thread" if you want to call it that, but it's more so a log of work done on the truck as I do not have the funds for an offroad/overland rig. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tpp4s-sr-dont-call-it-a-build.637443/#post-22096085

Welcome! Good call on doing the maintenance yourself, it's not that hard and will teach you a ton about your truck.

Anyone know where this O-Ring could possibly be from? Didn’t think there was one on this side of the spindle.

Doing the ECGS bearing install and this came out when I pulled the axle out.

I dont remember seeing an o ring like that on any of the ones I have swapped. However it looks like it would sit in the groove left of the flange.

Interesting. I’ll see if it fits back up there. I’m trying to avoid taking off the hub assembly to see if the O-Ring from there somehow weaseled it’s way out.

There is also a dust seal that goes into the hub area I forgot about but it has a oring or gasket to prevent dust from going into the bearing...

Upon further inspection - it’s actually a metal spring o-ring, and not rubber . Does that change anything?

That came out of the seal, they don't cost too much and are fairly easy to install

Thanks, man. Any way you can show me exactly where I’m looking to install it? Is it on the CV axle itself or the seal on the spindle?

I’m not great at this stuff, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Cadiz ky seems to be a popular location for retirement location. Ky lake and lake Barkley are within 20 minutes. I can ask a couple of people at my work on monday which agent they used and if they recommend them. Let me know if your interested in an area like that.

I think TN is better when it comes to taxing retirement income so I’d like to stay in that area, but I appreciate any information you got.
